It had only 4500 miles on it !! I recently spent approx $13,000 (parts & labor) for a newer engine with 54,000 miles (engine came from a 1996 300ZX Twin-Turbo), 2 new turbos, new clutch, new throwout bearing, new heater & A/C cores, new timing belt, etc, etc etc, NOTE: All work performed by professional certified mechanics. This is a large model at 9.5" long and is very well made with extreme detail. Kyosho produces the most detailed die cast model available today. Full engine detail including spark plug wires and hoses, and carpeting in the trunk and passenger area. An extremely well detailed interior with legible gauges. SEE PHOTOS First, a little history on this 100% factory original Beauty! I bought this car from the original owner Mark on June 20, 2000. I was living in Florida and flew to Arkansas after winning the car on eBay (see original listings below). So it has been a southern car for most of it's life (no winter salt/snow). The car only had 4500 miles (certified by CarFax & Nissan & 3rd party investigations). The 6 year/100,000 mile Nissan factory warranty transferred into my name. I drove the car back to Sarasota, Florida at 130 mph (just kidding ! ) after it passed "2" local Nissan dealer’s certifications with “FLYING COLORS!” Nissan checked every component of the car including the turbo boost, transmission, etc. Car has since been driven only 84,500 miles on the highway from Florida to NJ (where my relatives live) for the holidays, etc. The black exterior of this Z is good. No major dings, dents and only 2 large scratches (see photos). Has a few minor scratches of course, it is a 15 year old black car. It has the rear spoiler, dual exhaust, Z alloy wheels with good tires and tinted rear window. The gray cloth interior is also very good and shows almost no wear at all. The car has dual airbags, t tops with original storage bag and a great cd player. It also has the Bose sound system and all power options, including a switch on the console to change the electronically controlled suspension from touring/soft to sport/firm. It has Z floor mats, tilt, cruise and climate control. DESCRIPTION The new twin turbo engine runs like new and has a ton of power. The turbo's spool right where they should and the new clutch is tight. The car recently passed NJ DMV Inspection and has a valid sticker. This is a well maintained and never abused Z car that will make someone very happy. It's not perfect, but very nice. 1. As nice as this vehicle may be, please remember you are bidding on a used vehicle. I have described vehicle to the best of my ability, however it is impossible for anyone to describe every nick and scratch on a used vehicle. CAR STARTS AND RUNS GREAT BUT IDLES ROUGH BECAUSE idle control may need adjustment/replacement or FUEL INJECTORS MAY NEED TO BE CLEANED/REPLACED. 4. THE ONLY area of blistered paint located on the rear passenger wheel well/fender, where the steel body panel meets the plastic lower body panel is approx 2'' in diameter. The area is very small as indicated by my 15 year old daughter's finger which is pointing at the area (SEE PHOTOS). The paint & metal do not crumble or peel, the paint is not perforated and when you reach around to the back side the steel is still solid. 5 There is one scratch on each door (SEE PHOTOS). OVERVIEW: The 300ZX Turbo was the embodiment of brains and brawn. Introduced as a 1990 model, the fourth-generation turbocharged car received rave reviews from the automotive media and sent Corvette designers scrambling to meet the Nissan's 300 hp. In 1996 the final year of production , it's estimated that less than 200 Super Black Twin-Turbo Z cars with (5speed & t-Bar roof) made their way into garages across America. The 1996 twin-turbo Z still looks great, the technology was topnotch and the aftermarket continues to pay homage to the model. Bodywork Even now, the fourth-generation 1996 car's appearance is both fine and refined. The new look was low and wide with smooth lines and a rounded roofline. The twin-turbo Z also had staggered wheel and tire sizes--wider in the rear than the front--which gave the car a menacing stance. The twin-turbo, which was only available as a two-seater, wore a rear spoiler and three small slat-like grille openings on the corners of its front spoiler. Also, the label Twin-Turbo can be found on the right rear of the decklid. Turbocharged cars were also available with T-tops or a solid roof. Engine For the fourth generation, Nissan kept the 3.0-liter 60-degree V6 iron-block and aluminum head configuration , but the block was redesigned and the crank, intake and exhaust manifolds, heads, valvetrain, electronics, and boost system were changed. Performance at low and mid-range rev range was improved without sacrificing any top-end performance. Peak torque was 283 lb-ft at 3600 rpm and officially the horsepower still hovered at the 300 mark. Transmission The five-speed is controlled by a perfectly placed short throw shifter. Brakes The ABS stock brakes were 11-inch, four-piston discs in front and 11.7-inch, two-piston discs in the rear. Steering and Suspension All Turbos came with four-wheel independent suspension, two-position cockpit adjustable shocks and Super HICAS four-wheel steering system, which tosses out a dose of opposite steering in the rear, immediately followed by same-direction rear steering. Below 20 mph and above 75 mph, the system is inactive, but between 20 and 75 mph, it moves the rear wheels up to 1 degree, depending on vehicle speed, steering wheel angle, and the speed the steering wheel is turned. Turn the wheel quickly, and you get more of a response. Until 1993, HICAS was electro-hydraulic, but for the 1994 model year, the system was changed to an electric rear rack for a small weight savings.
