Vehicle Detail

66 Lincoln Continental Convertible VIN 6Y86G443513 This is an opportunity to purchase an original unmolested car in a rare color combo.462-4 barrel engine that runs smooth and strong. Dark Blue, Bright Red Leather interior and white top. This car is fully documented with the two owner history. The original Owner, James R. Velde of Greenwich CT bought the car from Tyler Motor Corp in Glen Cove NY on April 4th, 1966. He may have been someone of importance as noted by a Dash Plack made by Lincoln with his name on it. Mr Velde kept the car for two years. The next owner , David Alden Deming of Stamford CT bought the car March 9th 1968. Mr. Deming kept the car until the day he died in 2010. This car has always been garaged and maintained. It has the original drive train, interior and 90k original miles. The floors and frame are rust free which is very rare on these cars. The Pwr top, Pwr windows,PS,PB,Pwr seats, radio, etc all work great. The AC is not cold and I have not looked into the reason why.I have not tried the 8-track player but would bet on it working. The car runs fantastic and is a pleasure to drive. It has one old repaint in the original color. The paint has cracking, chips, small dings, small dents and touch ups but looks presentable from a distance. The lower rear quarters have had some light filler work that appears to be from hitting curbs, not rust. I do not see any serious rust on the car. The interior is original and shows its age with wear, cracking, holes but it is still very presentable and comfortable for a daily driver. The top may be original and shows some wear. I do not think that it has any leaks. It goes up and down nicely with the touch of a button. The trunk lid lifts up and the top goes neatly inside then closes all automatically. It is quite possible that the gas mileage is not that great on this car. The reason I think this may be the case is because I found a document from 1979 that shows the gas station hours of all the local gas stations in the area. This was kept in the glove box. All the receipts for repairs have been saved . I will list a few items that were taken care of: The trans was rebuilt Sept 2003 New rear exhaust system including mufflers and resonators with lifetime warrantee Sept 2003 Brake line March 2005 New Radiator 4 new tires and alignment 2004 Ball joints at 68k miles in 1976 Etc………………… Documentation includes: Original Owners manual with original owner info 1968 Title The buildsheet for the car is still under the front seat. Original registration for Mr. Deming along with registrations and insurance cards for many years up to present. Tax receipts, Unpaid ticket, etc Recap: Unmolested original car Rare and desirable color combo Runs and drives excellent Tons of documentation Full history Suicide doors and a top that goes down Turn key and drive You will not be disappointed The car can be inspected in Easton CT.
