Vehicle Detail
chipiskingX5 Store For sale is a magnificent, pristine 1986 500SEC Euro. These cars are the cream of the crop among all the 126 series 500SEC coupes produced between 1980-1991 (36,784). In 1986 the 500SEC was no longer produced for the American market, only the European (2020 were made), thus making it very rare. Parts however, are readily available & found through any number of sources. I have the pleasure of selling this car for the owner, who has become a friend of mine through our long conversations about MB autos. He sent me this car to sell(or buy), as his taste in autos has changed. We've discovered that because of CARB, it is best for the buyer & seller that this car be sold to someone outside of California or to Europe. It is 49 state legal and has been fair weather driven, and registered its entire life in Virginia(check the carfax). The owner is a very meticulous person. Over the past 10+ years he has spent in excess of $25,000 (all receipts included), to maintain and improve this beauty to the highest standards. Every blemish was erased & every maintenance performed religiously. Every item that normally requires attention over 25 years was tended to. He entered the car in local shows whenever possible & did quite well. He even had the car refinished to MB standards because he said there was some fading on the hood & top. All EPA & DOT documents from when the car entered the country are included. The car was completely federalized upon entry @ a cost of $5,000. The two owners took exceptional care of this beauty & it shows. Now let me detail the condition: The exterior is gorgeous! It has been flawlessly refinished in the MB silver of that era. The AMG (period correct) rims are flawless as are the new Michelin MXV4's (225X55X16). The bumpers have also been refinished with the correct MB color code. The underside includes an entirely new MB exhaust system. There are a few paint chips barely noticeable (I included a photo of the only easily noticeable chip on the lower side panel). The car is not concours, as it has been driven 73K+ miles, but it is pretty close. The interior is exceptional (again not concours due to a few tiny flaws), & the color combo of blue leather on silver is stunning! There is some loose stitching on the driver's seat & a blemish on one of the rear compartments, but nothing that detracts from the near perfect interior. PICTURES DO NOT DO THIS CAR JUSTICE!!! Mechanically the car is exceptional! The following repairs & all normal maintenance have been done according to MB standards @ MB certified repair facilities (no expense was spared). Some of the repairs include but are not limited to: All new fluids & filters, all new brakes & rotors, all seals including main seal & all trans & torque converter seals, all new exhaust system, all new cooling system (except for radiator), all new ignition wires, plugs & fuses, all new AC system, new window seals, new battery, new engine mounts, alignment, new rear calipers, new hood pad, new belts & much more. The car also had a recent smog check which it passed with flying colors (included in paperwork). One could literally eat off the engine. As I said, the owner (a collector), is very meticulous. I've only been able to find one non-working item on the car. The vacuum operated up/down Euro headlights switch. Otherwise, everything works well. This car has the higher compression motor with the different cam than the watered down American version. It is lighter & faster, with more HP than the American version 500SEC. The Euro is simpler than the American & does not have cruise control or hydraulic rear suspension. It starts & runs flawlessly. Quiet, fast & smooth. You could not own a more beautiful MB coupe unless it was a near perfect concours car. I have tried to detail the condition of this car to the best of my ability. I am not an automotive expert, so I encourage any serious buyer to have an inspection done @ your expense. I will answer any questions to the best of my ability & am providing pictures to view. If you want any specific pictures, send me your personal e-mail, with your request (I have many more). As a weekender or an everyday driver, this car is ready to serve. It is an absolute pleasure to drive!!!! The VIN of this car is #WDB1260441A197920. You may do a carfax report if you like & check the history. The ebay site sometimes does not allow a VIN of imports to show on their site! I will cooperate with the shipping process to anywhere in the states or Europe. I will accept a deposit of $1,000 within 48hr. Thank you & good luck bidding!! RESERVE HAS BEEN LOWERED ONCE AGAIN!!!!! PLEASE, ONLY SERIOUS BIDDERS IN GOOD STANDING WITH THE E-BAY COMMUNITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
