This Desoto is about 85-90% restored. It has been restored to its stock condition. This is a frame off restoration. This car is trying to be described as accurately as possible. OVER 150 PICTURES SHOWING FRAME OFF AND BEFORE PHOTOS STORY OF THIS DESOTO We purchased this vehicle locally from a widow in Chico. Her husband past away about 8 months ago and was never able to finish the car. He had the car about 4 years and worked on it for about 3 1/2. She really had no knowledge of the car or any receipts. All information is based on physical inspection and research and pictures of the FRAME OFF restoration. If you have any questions about this Desoto, please drop and email to drtamc@sbcglobal.net EXTERIOR This has been a frame off restoration. The body and fenders are steel with no rust. It is very straight. The frame and under carriage has been repainted. It is black and green. It has been painted and it looks like it started to get wet sanded. The doors open and close with no problems. The rear hatch for the rumble seat is not currently on the car but it does come with it along with the hardware. The oak spoke wheels are in great condition. The entire body was off the frame, stripped and sanded down. All of the wood framing has been replaced and finished. Check out the pictures of the frame off restoration. Everything was off the frame and the whole body was restored. There are over 150 pictures showing the frame off and some of what the car looked at before. Check out all of the pictures! INTERIOR The interior is a work in progress. The front seat has been restored. The rumble seat still needs to be restored. We do have the springs for it and matching material, they do come with the car. All the wood has been replaced or restored. There are new slats for the roof, door jams and a lot more. Underneath is all new or restored wood that is solid with no rot what so ever. Both windows go up and down easily and the rear window also works properly. We do have new door panels that go with the car and a few other parts for the interior. Check out the pictures of all the wood work that was done during this FRAME OFF restoration. www.photobucket.com/ebay29desoto Look at all the pictures MOTOR and TRANS This looks to be the correct 6 cyl flat head motor but we can't say if it is the original. We were told that it was rebuilt a few years ago. The pictures show the motor was taken apart and we believe it is rebuilt. It fires up very easy and shifts through the gears. It does run and drive. Some wiring still needs to be done, as in the amp meter, turn signals and fuel gauge. It has a 6 positive ground system that does charge correctly with the generator. www.photobucket.com/ebay29desoto Over 150 pictures OVERALL CONDITION This DESOTO has been 85-90% restored. Yes it still needs some work but it's almost there. All the body work has been restored. The frame and all underneath the car is in excellent condition. We do have a lot of extra parts, some new and some used. We also have some of the original wood that has no use, but it is there if somebody wanted it. For more pictures, click here.
