Vehicle Detail

I have a lot of time, effort and money into listing this motorcycle on ebay. Please be respectful of that and do not bid until you have read the entire description/terms of the auction and are certain that you intend to follow through with the sale. Your bid is a contract to buy. I have the listing set up to accept bids only from US bidders in an effort to prevent scammers from ruining my auction. If you are a legitimate bidder outside of the US and you have a way to have the bike picked up at my location without it being crated, e-mail me at cbednas@yahoo.com and I will add you to the list that allows you to bid. This is the first year for the legendary Triumph Trident, and the only year in the US for the square styling and raygun mufflers. This one is in nice shape and is a good runner. The odometer shows 329 miles which is not accurate. I suspect that the speedometer was replaced at some point. It is also not currently working due to a bad speedo drive at the wheel. The cable and speedo itself are in working order. The bike fires up easily and runs well, but could benefit from some fine tuning of the carbs. It has a Boyer Bransden electronic ignition. The electrical system seems to be putting out a little too much voltage as it has a tendency to blow bulbs. The clutch and gearbox work well. Like all old British bikes, it leaks oil. The front brake feels like it could work better with a proper adjustment. The handlebar mount bushings are shot (lots of movement). The tires are in great shape with lots of tread. The original mounting point for the oil cooler has been cut off the frame and a later style set-up is present. The tank is missing the nuts and bolts that secure it to the frame. The bodywork was repainted at some point. It is a nice looking job. The silver stripe still needs the pinstriping around it. The tank has a couple of scratches and a small dent on the front left panel. The left side cover and left front portion of the seat have minor flame damage that is presumably from a small carb fire. The chrome on the headlight, handlebars and headers shows its age a little bit but the mufflers and rims have excellent chrome. There are 54 clickable thumbnails below detailing the condition of the bike. If you click on the pictures again after they open, they get even larger. Please look at all of them carefully and ask any questions you have before bidding. You can call me at 773-474-1744, e-mail me at cbednas@yahoo.com, or contact me through ebay. The bike is located in the city of Chicago, on the north side, near Irving Park Rd. and Western Ave. Shipping a motorcycle can be expensive, so be sure to look into it before bidding. My zip code is 60618 to help in figuring shipping. Winning bidder picks up in Chicago or arranges for/pays for all shipping/crating. $100 deposit via PayPal due within 24 hours of auction close. Remainder via one of the standard payment methods within three days. No PayPal for remainder unless you contact me first. The bike is to be picked up within three weeks of auction close. $25 per week storage fee after that.
