Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 1965 Dodge Coronet 500 426 Street Wedge, 727 TorqueFlite transmission. The wedge motor is rated at 365 horsepower, 10:3:1 compression and 470 torque (pounds/feet). This car is a sleeper with the only indication of the power underneath is the personalized plates. There is (was) no other engine related badging on the car. This is true with most Chrysler models of the day with the exception of course being the Hemi. The car has the original exhaust which is super quiet and the 3:23 rear end. This motor/transmission/gearing combination is superior between 20 and 45 miles per hour with respect to speed and power. This car is almost, completely unmolested, with perhaps 3-4 random non-visable parts that are not original. No speaker holes, no aftermarket radios, mag wheels, dash mounted tach and no steering wheel upgrade. While with some persistence, you can find parts and trim pieces for the car, it is much better to start off with a complete car in the first place. Some trim pieces in particular like the trunk medallion, are very difficult to find. This one is un-restored, nos. I have included a picture of the trunk. There are rust stains which I left so prospective buyers could see what is there and not cover it up or hide anything. The trunk floor is rock solid and the stains are easily dealt with. One point to note is the air cleaner. The Dodge 426 Street Wedges had a plain chrome air cleaner. This one has one from a Plymouth Fury 426 from the same era. It is very nice by I want to be correct that I believe it belongs on a Fury. This car has two-tone bucket seats, center console, and premium side and interior trim. The trim is all there and in good to excellent condition. This car was also optioned out with front sway bar, dual exhaust, (original 2 watt AM radio). The car has heavy duty front springs, front sway bar, eleven inch “police brakes” and a seven blade fan. Although the paint looks nice in the picture, the perfectionist is going to ultimately want to paint it. The EE1 color (midnight blue or dark blue) is next to perfect for this car. I do not know of any rust on the car and everything is solid. The gas gauge is currently not working. Probably the best thing about the car is that it is complete and original. The driver side rearview mirror is original and has the Chrysler Pentastar on the back. A. Note: I just noticed that I do not have a picture of the passenger side Pentastar. It is there and it is perfect. I have owned this car approximately six years, having purchased it from the original owner who owned it for about 40 years. The odometer shows about 53,000 miles. These miles are undocumented but are believed accurate. This is an incredibly original and unmolested car. The car is an “it” car where I live and attracts a lot of attention from both young and old alike. I have tried to be as descriptive as possible, and welcome any questions you may have."
