Vehicle Detail
1966 GMC K1000 1/2 ton 4WD Pickup. This is a factory 4x4, complete with the Muncie SM420 4spd, Rockwell T221 transfer case and Spicer/Dana 44 axles front and rear. The GMC 305 V6 has been replaced with a Chevy 327 V8. I looked up the VIN on the block and it shows that it came out of a 1965 corvette w/4spd. I've owned this pickup for about 5 years now and in that time I've installed a new Edelbrock 600cfm carb, Pertronix billet electronic distributor, new radiator, hoses, premium shocks and GM 4x4 ralley wheels with new BFG all terrain tires. As soon as I got it home it got all new fluids in both axles, oil has been changed regularly, new brake fluid, coolant, grease, transfer case, etc. New seals in transfer case. The body is good. there is the usual rust on the fenders behind the front tires and some on the front corners of the doors. Otherwise the body is very solid. The cab was replaced with Chevy cab long ago. I'm not sure why, but the Chevy gauge cluster is better than the GMC in my opinion. It has the deluxe cab with full gauges, custom cab trim and small back window. The box needs new bed wood, but the metal parts of the box, sides, front and wheelwells are PERFECT. This truck was never used for heavy hauling or abused. The 4WD works perfect, it has warn hubs. The trans shifts well and the truck tracks fine down the highway. Always starts right away, idles fine and runs great. Good oil pressure. Never overheats. Take note that this truck has manual steering and manual brakes, just like it came from the factory. A factory 4wd pickup of this vintage is very RARE and hard to find. It is far from perfect but it is better than most. This is a good one. I'm only selling because we've purchased a newer 3/4 ton GMC truck to use to carry a camper. The reserve is LOW, I need to sell. $500 is due within 1 week of auction close. Paypal accepted. I prefer local pickup but will deliver to shipping terminal within 40 miles of my home after full payment is received. More photos here: http://s1109.photobucket.com/albums/h433/dgpmerc/1966%20GMC/
