Vehicle Detail

I've had this truck for several years now and have been using it as a utility/work vehicle. When I first got it it had rust in the gas tank and I cut it open and sand blasted it. I coated it with a gas tank sealer and then I installed a new rebuilt carb. Other than a new starter and oil changes that's all it has needed. It is a good runner and other than sometimes flooding out when starting (because the choke has never worked right), it is dependable. I had thoughts of restoring it but I never had the time. It has some rust as you can see but the frame is solid. The rust is mainly at the lower end mostly at the rockers and lower fender area. There are some rust holes in the hood and in the bed. The tires are near the end of their life but still serviceable. The floor seems solid but I have never examined it but it does look pretty good from underneath. If you let it sit for a couple of weeks the master cylinder will lose a little fluid but the brakes seem to work fine and it doesn't lose much fluid if you drive it regularly. I don't see any problem with it as far as driving it and I wouldn't be surprised if it successfully was driven a long distance. The truck would make a good rolling restoration project. The motor does not burn oil and does not smoke. The odom says 60,000 something but I have no idea what the real # is, but it may be correct. It does run like a 60,000 mile motor. I have an extra windshield for it as the one one the truck has a crack. On Jun-24-11 at 12:15:35 PDT, seller added the following information: The rockers and lower fender area are rusty and the rockers would need to be replaced or repaired if you are going to restore this, the lower fenders are repairable. You can see daylight in the corners of the cab where the rust in the lower fenders is. Like I said, the frame appears good with no rust holes that I can see. The front-end seems to be pretty tight and it has worn the tires evenly. It does not pull to the right or left and doesn't shake or shimmy when driving. The strong point of this truck is the drive-train which is surprisingly good considering it is 33 yrs. old and doesn't appear to have been modified or previously restored. The tailgate and the lower front grill panel are blue (must be replacements). The rest of the truck was painted black (right over the un-prepped original red). The tailgate has rust along its lower seam and has surface rust on the panel. These 60's-70's Japanese PU's were notorious for rust. If you don't already know, this truck was made by ISUZU for Chevrolet. On Jun-24-11 at 20:23:40 PDT, seller added the following information: I added some closeup pictures of the rusty rockers. Also, I think the bed was originally blue. I think I remember that the previous owner had a parts truck and I think he may have used some body parts from that truck. It's been several years so I don't recall the details.
