1981 Corvette offered for sale. Car is Midnight Blue and only has 90,415 miles. Many new parts in last 4 years. I no longer have time to work on the car and my wife and I are downsizing. Car Fax shows 4 but the second owner gave the car to his son so it did not leave their family. *New Ball Joints *New Brakes *New Tie Rod Ends *Almost new tires *Numbers Matching 350, 190 hp L81 *99% Original--Has a muffler less exhaust, chrome alternator. *Complete new interior including seats, carpet, dash bezels, original equipment rear speakers *Has already been converted to R34 air conditioning *Original motor *New catalytic convertor *Runs and drives great *Have Car Fax Report *New Air Dam ready to be installed *All new weather stripping installed *Orignal smoke blue T-Tops. *Power windows and Power Door Locks *Automatic Transmission *Power Antenna *Came with option V54 which was the T Top carrier for the trunk deck. Only 3,303 of the 40,606 Corvettes made that year had it. The bad news is, it is long gone. *Rear window defogger *Cruise Control *AM/FM Cassette Radio *Original Wheels *I have the original seat foams which will go with the car along with other miscellaneous parts *New set of 4 center cones still in box for the wheels *New 72 month battery Attention Needed: *Small leak in transmission and power steering (Very common for this year Corvette) *Original nose cone has a small tear. Can be fixed or a new nose cone runs between $400 and $500 *Original paint so it is checked in a few places. A good 50 foot car but should have a new paint job to make it look very nice. *There is a short somewhere in the circuit which runs the horn, dome light, radio, etc. Blows the fuse. I don't have the expertise to find it but I know mechanics have a tool that can trace the exact spot of the short. *Car Fax shows one accident in 1991 with a utility pole. Based on what I see the was damaged on the passenger door as the inside of the replacement door is white. This car runs very strong and I have only put 700 miles on the car in the 4 years I have owned it. I paid $8,000 for this car in May 2007 and have spent over $2,000 in parts, interior, etc. so the price is very fair. The car does not have current tags as I have not driven it in two years other than around the block a few times. Car is for sale locally above the starting bid which is also the reserve price.
