1978 Jeep CJ7 Renegade Ford 351 Cleveland Cobra Jet with T18 Transmission I am selling my 1978 Jeep CJ7 Renegade that is in excellent condition. It is an original 304 V8 Renegade Levi's Edition. It no longer has the 304 V8 in it. It has been upgraded to a Ford 351 Cleveland Cobra Jet Engine equipped with Aluminum intake and Holley 4 barrel carb. Engine has Electronic ignition. It has headers with dual exhaust. The transmission is a T18 (low gear granny with 3 additional forward gears and reverse). It has the Dana 20 transfer case and retains the Dana front end and AMC rear. The exterior has newer paint done about 4 years ago. The silver is metallic that looks super nice. Very slick paint job. It does has a few nicks here and there but are not very noticable. The decals are exact reproductions from Phoenix Graphics. It has stainless dash and other accents thoughout the interior. Diamond plate side rock guards. Floor coated with a Rhino type coating. Solid floor and side pans. New Black carpet installed. Sun Super-Tach II rpm tachometer installed. Grant GT removable steering wheel with security key. New Best Top Seats in the front and rear bench is Best Top. VDP center console. New TUFFY box behind rear bench. Newer Best Top bikini top. Black soft doors never installed. Two tone Hard doors Silver and Black. Original Black hard top for the winter. All lights work. KC Ultra Fogs look and work great. Blinkers and running lights all work properly. New Boss CD Player with Under console Boss subwoofer, Pioneer 6X9 and Pioneer 4" speakers. Stereo system sounds great. Clutch is new and very strong. Brakes work correctly and have been recently replaced. American Aluminum racing rims with BF Goodrich 33X12.50-15LT Tires. Tires are in great shape. Front Jack mounted high lift. Ramsey 12000 front winch with custom Ramsey front bumper. Has front and rear receiver hitches. Mileage is exempt an unknown. Speedometer reads 17867. It seems like a low mile vehicle. Seems to be garage kept by the clean overall condition. Fuel and Temp gauge doesn't work. I have a new Temp and matching oil pressure gauge that you can install in the dash. Front differential has an oil leak ($100) fix. New high Cranking amp battery installed less than a year ago. New Stainless battery tray and brackets. This Jeep has pretty much been totally redone. With the couple of fixes mentioned in this description, it would be near perfect. The jeep is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction without notice. I also have two brand new 2" guages that I'm including. Temp and Oil which will fit the existing mounts. There are also some other items included. Extra front lamps with cages. On Jun-22-11 at 07:18:02 PDT, seller added the following information: I've had a lot of calls on the Jeep and I'm trying to answer all to the best of my ability. I would not hesitate driving the Jeep on a 500 mile trip. It has no mechanical or other issues to mention. The steering does have a little play but its not bad. The tires are balanced perfectly. At 55 mph it rides very nice. No tire bouncing or pulling. The Ramsey front bumper is very very heavy duty. The Black Hardtop looks very good but has come scratches on it and needs a good buffing. I had the Hardtop installed this past winter with the hard doors and both work very well. The hard doors are two tone, Black and silver. They match the Black Top and Silver Jeep.On Jun-23-11 at 13:13:31 PDT, seller added the following information: Just got the Jeep back from our local mechanic. He replaced the front and rear differential shaft seals, also replaced inspection cover gaskets, and replaced front and rear axle fluid. I went ahead and had him do both so whoever buys the Jeep wont have to worry about either one. To my knowledge, the Jeep is now leak free.
