Vehicle Detail

Lets try this one more time, a bit of advice, this is the real deal so educate yourself if you want originality not bitsa thrown together, check out the dash very closely, the steering wheel, the ignition switch, the steel wheels, the distributer,(advance/retard mechinisms) oil pan drain plug, seats, commish number, gas cap, washer bottle, inner wheel arch commision plate(is it/was it ever there?),trans hump rear lite, striped hoses,etc...etc.All these parts are very hard to come by and most are one year only items that is the whole reason 1969 TR6's are special.... If you are going to buy a major restoration and want what is advertised, then buy from some one who knows the cars in and out and has what he claims to have. Remember Caveat Emptor means something. Those of you familiar with the TR6 series Triumph will know that these early cars are the most collectible TR's of the marque, this car was built in 1968,right after TR250 production ended. That fact is what makes this particular TR6 worthy of restoration. This car is a*major* project, needing rust repair to the sills dog legs front floor boards and some repair in the spare tire well. It is mostly original with a poor old repaint over the factory primrose yellow. It has the correct exclusive one year only features, steering wheel and dash ,studded wheels, gauges, seats trim etc etc. The engine will run when hooked up to a battery, and gas poured into the carbs. I had it running long enough to test the trans up the driveway and it is just dandy. Please note this is NOT being sold as a drivable car, it will need to be winched loaded. The frame has rust and will need trailing arm repair, but the frame is still strong enough to support the suspension when lifted, it has not broken away as is most common with this issue. The top frame is there but the top is shot.I pulled out and tossed the original carpet to show the floors. This is a historic vehicle that deserves restoration, but not by this old guy anymore. There are lots of worthy TR6's out there but few very early ones like this left. Please note, I tried to photograph all areas of concern or interest, please view accordingly as the photos do not show all the upper, lower sill/fender rust. I will help the winning bidder with loading onto a small truck at my house, but I have no room for a huge commercial semi truck. Full payment to be made within 72 hours of auction close. a bit more TR6 info..I believe this to be the best budget priced collector value TR6 currently available. It is very complete, and considerably un-cobbled,it is not a bitsa this and bitsa that thrown together to sell a TR6, It has its commission (vin) plate and legitimate title, it has it's unassalable historic value. As stated the engine does run and the clutch/transmission do work, so no guessing about those issues.. A have shown a full spectrum of photos so no guessing about body/frame conditions as well as a very descriptive text....IMHO, if you must restore a TR6, restore one you like of course, but also restore the one that will return you back your most investment money,.....and yes you will sell it someday, you will not take it with you..This one fills those requirements nicely. Is it work? yes, is it worth it?,depending on who you are....another yes. Do your homework on this year early TR6 then make your bid if this is for you. On Jun-18-11 at 05:36:53 PDT, seller added the following information: I have shown as many photos as Ebay will let me, in/out and under.all areas, but if you need a specific photo to help convince you it is as I say then let me know.I tried to photograph most all items that were 1969 specific, notice the ignition is correctly in the center of the dash, photos like that. If its possible I will try to send you a photo, altho I probably will not be able to jack it up as I now have it parked next to my barn on soft grass.
