Up for "NO RESERVE" Auction: This is a rare, 1968 model, tall grille Mercedes Benz 250SE Coupe with only 61,000 original miles. Originally purchased in May, 1968 from Kumpf Motors in Denver, CO by former Metropolitan Opera Soprano Louise Hunter-Windsor, who was married to Popular Mechanics magazine publisher H.H. Windsor, Jr. This all original automobile has remained in the family after Mrs. Windsor's death in 1981. Mrs. Windsor enjoyed fine automobiles, and this Mercedes is equipped with every option except a sunroof. A four-speed automatic transmission, with the shift on the column. Power windows, front-seat folding armrests, and rare front center seat cushion. Original working Becker AM/FM radio and KUHLMEISTER air-conditioning unit (still in working condition). The vehicle has been routinely serviced with factory parts as needed. The rear hydro-suspension unit was replaced with a new factory unit approximately six years ago. Mechanically the vehicle is very strong. The engine starts immediately and runs well. The transmission upshifts and downshifts on command. The steering and brakes work as expected (complete brake system overhaul). The whitewall tires are new, within the last four years. The electric windows work well, although the rear windows are a little slow and the left rear tailght needs replaced. We have a binder with service records documenting repairs and mileage. This Coupe is in outstanding condition inside and out! The Leather seats and carpeting are like new! All of the original paperwork comes with this car.
