I am selling this car due to the fact that I don’t have $500.00 to put into for parts to repair. I have gone from a 2- income family to a 1- income family, and need the money more than the car. This car has been parked at a storage facility since January 2011 and has been cranked weekly to keep the battery charged.. For sale is a Silver 2001 Mercury Sable Duratec LS with the 6- cylinder 3.0 Duratec 24 valve OHC engine. This four door, fully loaded automatic vehicle that is equipped with power steering, power brakes, power adjustable brake pedal, power windows, power seat, power door locks, power mirrors, power trunk, remote keyless entry, alarm system, Factory Power Sunroof, Electronic Climate controls, Leather Seats, dual airbags, tilt, cruise control, factory AM/FM stereo cassette sound system. This car also has the 16 inch chrome alloy wheels. The car also comes with (2) keys and (2) remote control fobs. The interior of the car is in good condition with the leather seats and no tears in the seats whatsoever. The engine runs GREAT, with LOTS of power and no major problems whatsoever. The transmission is also in GREAT shape, just having been totally rebuilt a few years back. MECHANICAL DETAILS: The car needs to have the Air Conditioning compressor AND radiator hoses replaced. The clutch broke off the AC compressor last summer. I quit driving it in the fall of 2010 since I could not use the heater with the AC not working. In the Fall of 2010 I took it for city inspection, and noticed a antifreeze leak. I took it to Firestone, and they said the upper and lower hoses/tubes need to be replaced. A compressor for the air conditioning on this car about $150.00 The radiator tubes/hoses are $217.00 from the dealer for this car. The front windshield has a split down the passenger side (can still pass inspection in Tennessee). A windshield will cost $100.00 installed at Glassmasters here in Memphis, Tennessee. Other than this, the car runs GREAT and will be a stable, comfortable and reliable car for the person that wins at auction. NO smoke, NO oil usage, NO slipping of the transmission or differential. The car needs to be washed and vacuumed, but other than that she is in great shape. PAYMENT DETAILS: A $500.00 non refundable deposit should be made on this car within 24 hours of purchase. The rest/balance will be paid at the time of pick up which should be within (3) THREE days of the auction ending date. CASH or PayPal will have title immediately.
