Rare Triple Black 1964 Thunderbird Landau Z-Code up for auction with NO RESERVE, bid early and often! This Thunderbird is the highly sought after Landau model, has premium vinyl top, "S" on rear pillar and interior trim upgrades with the desirable Z-Code, 390 V-8, 4BBL Carb rated at 300 HP with 10:1 compression. Bought from an older woman who had it garaged since the mid 90's & owned it since 1982. She'd start her up every now and then until the battery went dead then didn't touch the car for about 8 years, the car just sat in a garage. When I bought the Bird I drained the tank and got it running with a full tuneup, did brake and fuel lines, rear wheel cylinders, brake pads and put a new battery. At the end of last summer I had the driver's exhaust manifold gasket replaced (lots of labor replacing those!), and the shift linkage adjusted. Brakes started sticking a little lately, might need adjusting or a front wheel cylinder. Car is very straight, doors close easily. Paint is original and still shines up decently, looks good from 10 feet but could use a compounding or repaint. Bumpers are dull but all there and straight. Vinyl top has no tears or cracks, has a nice shine. Interior is in great shape, dash perfect with no cracks or warping (dash may have been replaced, it's immaculate), seats and door panels very good (some peeling of the woodgrain at top of door panels), headlinder has a couple of small tears. Gas guage hasn't worked since I've owned her, driver's side windows work, passenger side windows stopped working, replacement main window switch included. Wipers work but switch is bad, new center switch cluster included with clock. Afermarket cassette player in dash, orginal radio included. Trunk lock cylinder out, opens with screwdriver, new lock cylinder included along with chrome trunk lock cover. I've gotten many parts but haven't put them in, will include everything I have. Has unique swing-away steering wheel only available on Tbirds. Horn, dash lights and all exterior lights work properly including fender turn signal indicators. Cruises nicely on the highway, holds the road perfectly. Runs very strong, LOTS of power from the 390 V8, tracks straight as an arrow and brakes evenly, no pulling or fading, suspension and steering are tight and has the Cruise-O-Matic transmission with the overdrive gear for easy 80 mph cruising. 390 V8 runs incredibly smooth and quiet- you can barely hear it running unless you're standing right near the car. Drives overall like an American classic sportscar should. VIN is RY87Z114409. Triple black color combination looks really cool, especially with aftermarket chrome wheels I had on her. Tires are good, original Thunderbird hubcaps in great shape. Nice classic Thunderbird which will only appreciate in value!
