Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE No reserve auction! In order to be respectful to bidders, I will NOT end this auction early! It is for sale through this auction only! Again, this is a genuine auction that I will NOT end early. This car is not listed for sale anywhere else or locally. Happy Memorial Day and thank you to those who have served our country. 2% of this auction will be donated through Ebay to the USO to help support our troops. 1987 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II: This is a top notch example of an ORIGINAL Turbo II RX-7 that retains its ORIGINAL and NON-rebuilt engine. It has survived 24 years without a single modification and has traveled only 53,000 miles! It has been taken great care of cosmetically and mechanically with its original engine, transmission, interior, and paint intact. It is a Midwest car and has ALWAYS been stored inside. Not many Turbo II's were made in 1987, very few of them black, and hardly any left in this excellent of condition and originality. This model also lacks the weight adding luxury options like power steering and leather. This is my personal car. Clean title in my name. Please view all of the videos, pictures, and read the description to get an idea of the condition of this RX-7. Videos:I have uploaded 6 videos of the car to Youtube. Please view all of them. For some reason I am unable to embed the videos in this ad so you will have to copy and paste each link separately in your browser, or copy and paste the link to my channel and click "Uploads" to see all of them (http://www.youtube.com/user/OldSkoolFool83?feature=mhee), or just do a search for my Youtube screen name which is OldSkoolFool83. Click on the image to open it then once it loads, click again for an even larger view. (Let me know if you have issues viewing the images or videos) Description Read at your own risk! It's lengthy. The body of this car is impressive and of collectible quality. It is extremely straight with no significant dings, dents, or scrapes. The body gaps line up as they should. Since it is a black car, the chips are more noticeable but are limited in number as to be expected on a 53k mile car. All of the body panels are original to the car. The car was rust proofed when new (the yellow color in the engine bay along the strut towers and other sheet metal is the originally applied rust proofing). I really never like saying a car is rust free but this is a genuine rust free car. The bottoms of the doors, corners of the fenders, spare tire well, frame rails, floors, and etc... are completely spotless. The rockers are spotless as well other than a few spots where paint was chipped from where it looked the car was jacked up. The brake master cylinder leaked at one point so there is a little staining from brake fluid on a section of the driver frame rail but no rust. The suspension pieces are overall clean. The underbody is amazingly clean thanks to the rust proofing, having been stored inside, and having been driven only in good weather. The majority of the paint on this RX-7 is the original factory applied finish and is in excellent condition. The high level of glossiness/reflection can be seen in the pictures and video. Notice in the picture of the die cast 240Z next to the paint how reflective the RX-7 is. The car looks impressive. There are no odd textures, fading, or significant imperfections. Look through all of the pictures in full size and it's easy to tell how clean this car is. As to be expected, there are some chips in some areas but they are not excessive. There are two scratches touched up on the passenger mirror. As to be expected on a single stage black paint, there are a few bird poo stains that can be barely noticed with the right amount of sunlight and at the right angle. Stupid birds! The driver front fender lower portion with the chip guard has somewhat of a different texture but is not very noticeable. There is one scratch on the rear bumper by the driver side exhaust outlet about one inch long that is hardly noticeable. All of these imperfections are very minor and do not distract from the overall look of the car. The paint on every body panel seriously is in excellent condition. I would rate the condition of the paint as a 9.7 out of 10. Even the door jams, hatch jams, and underside hood paint are shinier that most RX-7's exterior paint. I am probably biased but black is one of the best colors for these Turbo II's. The car looks slick. One thing that is nice is that the black side moldings do not stand out as they do on other colors. I took an excessive amount of pictures so the quality of the finish can be seen with different lighting and at different angles. It is very special to have the original paint in this excellent of condition even on a 53k mile car. The other exterior parts of the car are also in great condition. The wheels are practically spotless and retain their original finish. Glass, lenses, trim, and etc... are present and in great condition. Passenger fender amber reflector has a crack and the tail lights have some slight wipe marks that I am unable to get out (Those would be the only two things I would replace if I were to keep the car. Many parts cars out there and these parts would be inexpensive). Many of the original window decals are attached ("Motor Trend car of the year", "SCCA Champions"). The engine bay is very clean, unmolested, and impressive. Hoses, wires, plastic bits, etc... look to all be present and in great condition. It does have the rust-proofing (the yellow stuff that looks like baby puke) which may not look the prettiest but does protect it (it can be removed with a degreaser if new owner decides to remove it). Underside of the hood is clean and shiny. The hood scoop top and bottom looks great. The weather-stripping is in great condition. Supports, frame rails, and inner fenders are in great condition and show no evidence of repair/accidents. Note that the AutoCheck summary is clear. VIN on firewall, title, door, etc... all match. The interior of this car is impressive and of collectible quality as well. I would rate it a 9.7 out of 10. The flaws that the interior does have are quite insignificant. There is a very small spot on the upper part of the driver seat (see picture) and a very small poke about the size of a pencil tip on the rear/upper part of the driver door panel (see picture). Both driver and passenger seats are in excellent condition without noticeable wear. The bolsters are in excellent condition. Seats are still nice and firm and look great. Door panels, carpet, headliner, shift boot, shift knob, and other trim are in excellent presentable condition. Plastics are not cracked and no significant fading or discoloration. The dash is spotless. All of the knobs are tight and function as they should and are spotless. Original radio and equalizer are present and function properly as does the power antenna. The radio and climate control areas are basically spotless. Power windows, cruise, electric sun roof, speedo, odometer, tach, wipers, lights, and etc... all work fine. Hood, hatch, and fuel door release function properly. Owner's manual, other documentation, and two original Mazda keys are present. Again, the interior is complete and in impressive condition. Looks as to be expected on a 53k mile car if not better. Mechanically this RX-7 is good to go. It needs nothing and should need nothing (other than regular maintenance) for many years to come. Maintenance within the past two months includes: -oil and filter -air filter -coolant flush -new brake master cylinder -brake fluid changed & brakes bled The tires are practically brand new with 97% tread left and are the high quality and high performance General Exclaim UHP's in the correct size (205/55/16). The suspension feels nice and tight with no odd noises. The steering is smooth and direct with no odd noises or issues. Due to the car being light, the non-power steering is easy to operate. The handling of these cars is very impressive even in their stock form. There are plenty of old magazine articles putting the Turbo II against the Porsche 944, Nissan 300ZX, Toyota Supra, and Mitsubishi Starion with the RX-7 always rating towards the top. These Turbo II's have some of the best brakes out of the 80's with four piston calipers up front and large-for-the-time diameter discs all around. As stated, the brake master cylinder and fluid have been changed. Rotors, pads, and calipers are great. The car stops very straight and stops extremely quickly if you want it to with no vibration. The original exhaust is still on the car and in great condition. The transmission is original and functions properly. No grinds or odd noises. Clutch feels great and does not slip. The differential is the original limited slip unit and is great. A/C condenser is on the car but not hooked up as it was not blowing cold air. Battery is newer. This RX-7 retains its original two rotor turbocharged and intercooled engine. It has NEVER been modified and has NEVER been rebuilt. It is not in need of any kind of repair or current maintenance. The engine starts right up every time when warm or cold. It runs extremely smooth and does not make any odd noises. It does not blow any smoke. It goes through the whole RPM range with no issues. The turbo boosts exactly as it should and sounds great. The engine feels strong. Oil pressure is correct. Engine runs at the proper temperature and has fresh coolant. This thing sounds great when driving it. This car has been very well maintained and taken care of. RX-7 Turbo II's are a pleasure to drive. It is one of the best affordable sports cars from the '80s with great handling, braking, and performance. This example has been very well taken care of and can be dependably driven. The exterior and interior is in impressive condition and matches the low mileage. This is a top notch example that is of collectible condition. I have been watching Turbo II's for sale for a few months and would argue this is the cleanest original one that is for sale. This is a no reserve auction. Bid to win. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about the car. Serious inquiries only though please. I am located in Milwaukee, WI near the airport. My phone number is: (262) 391-1069 (no texts please) or message me through Ebay If you bid, you agree to the following terms and conditions: Bidding on this vehicle means you commit to purchase this car whether you have inspected it or not. Again, I will NOT end this auction early. On May-30-11 at 17:19:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Information added as of 5/30/2011 at 7:16 PM: Added a scan of the title so potential buyers can see that the VIN matches, there are NO liens, it is clear, and in my name. Note: the mileage is listed as exempt because the vehicle is older; I smugged out my address so it can not be seen; the "Chassis Type" section is for what type of vehicle it is (Automobile) and not what type of transmission. I forgot to mention that the maintenance that was performed on the car was completed by me. I will also mention that the only reason I am selling is because I have acquired a Datsun 240Z project that will be consuming my garage, time, and money! This RX-7 is a very special car. Happy bidding! On Jun-02-11 at 15:32:49 PDT, seller added the following information: I am located about 5 minutes from Mitchell Airport in Milwaukee. Picking someone up from the airport is something I would consider. Buyer could fly in to Milwaukee and drive it back! I would not hesitate to drive this car long distance. My wife and I had the car out for a 2 hour cruise a few days ago. It was 85 degrees and super humid. The RX-7 drove flawlessly and stayed at the proper temperature.. I have been getting numerous calls about the car. Thank you all for your interest.
