Vehicle Detail
brhm57 Store Up for auction is a 1970 Cadillac De Ville convertible. The car is a very good driver quality car that is very dependable. This car shows 63,000 miles, but we have to think it may be 163,000. Regardless of the mileage, the car starts and runs fine and can be taken anywhere and enjoyed. EXTERIOR: This car is an older amateur repaint. The car looks good and the bodywork is fair. This car has had a couple of paint jobs and has not been stripped between them. To do the car right it should be taken down to bare metal, but again as a good driver to have fun with the car presents itself very well. There has been bodywork done, and I don’t know the true extent of the work completed. From what I can tell, there is a fair amount of filler in the lower front fenders, and in some spots along the side of the car. Again, it’s amateur work but looks ok. There are a couple of spots that are starting to show some “popping”, mainly the front of the hood and the trunklid. The convertible top is perfect as it was recently replaced. There are no rips, tears or shrinkage. The chrome and stainless trim is in average condition, with minimal wear from age. The frame is solid, but the floor pan on the passenger side was repaired at some point in its life. INTERIOR: This interior is original and is decent. The black leather shows average wear. The door panels, dash pad, and dashboard trim were replaced and re-dyed at some time in its life but it was a very decent job. The carpeting is new. The driver’s side door panel has a crack (see photo). The car could use a dash pad; there is a crack above the instrument cluster (see photos). A new vinyl top boot was recently made for the car and is included with it. All things said, this interior is nice and very presentable. It needs nothing to be enjoyed as a fun driver. Mechanically, this car is very sound and drives well. Within the past few months the owner has spent quite a bit of money getting the car to be very dependable. The repairs to the car completed within the past 6 months include: · New Battery · New Voltage Regulator · New front shocks and springs · Carburetor rebuilt · New Hankook tires · Tune-up, belts, hoses · Replaced water pump · New weatherstripping DISCLOSURES: The only mechanical issue I know of with this car is the Air Conditioning does not work. We have not looked into what the problem is with the system. The passenger (right) side floor pan had a hole that was repaired before the current owner bought the car. This car was originally a color called Bayberry, with a tan top and interior. The color change was completed prior to my friend purchasing it. This car has the typical options offered 1970 including power seat, power windows, power door locks, and Climate Control. All power equipment (windows, seat, top) function properly. If you have any questions about this car, or would like to schedule a time to see it please call Bill at (708) 308-9398, or contact me at brhm57@aol.com. I am selling this car for a friend, but will try to answer any questions as quickly as I can. This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied.
