Nice 1979 Chevrolet Corvette up for auction. NO RESERVE, bid early and often, top bidder gets her! All original Vette with matching numbers 350 V8, 44882 miles on odometer. The Corvette had been barely used by the previous owner who had it garaged since 1986, the mileage is supposed to be original but I have no way of verifying. My mechanic thinks the mileage could be original because of how well the engine runs and the overall condition. I put in a new dual exhaust system when I purchased the car in 2009, done right with Walker mufflers, Corvette has a nice low growl. We put on four new tires at the same time. Aluminum Corvette mags in great shape. Power windows work, driver's window needs a little help going up. Interior overall in good condition, dash, door panels and console nice. Driver's seat has some tears, passenger seat good. The Corvette could use new paint or a good compounding, dull in spots. The a/c has the belt on compressor and turns on but does not blow cold, heat and defrost work well. Wipers stopped working recently, I mentioned it to my mechanic he said the switches often go bad in these Corvettes, $30 on Ebay. Vette is very straight, doors close easily, t-tops work properly and hood opens and closes as it should. I always get smiles and "thumbs up" when I take her out. Cruises nicely on the highway, holds the road perfectly. Runs very strong, tracks straight as an arrow and brakes evenly, no pulling or fading. She starts on the first try even in cold weather, idles perfectly, stops easily and the suspension is tight. Drives overall like an American classic sportscar should. VIN is 1Z8789S434777. I will include a pair of Recaro racing seats I bought for the Vette but never got around to installing, supposedly they bolt right in (pix at bottom).
