2005 Volkswagen Passat GLS TDI 2.0L Diesel engine 5 speed automatic vin# WVWAE63B25E055436 146,600 miles. The oil pump failed and blew apart, and this car probably has engine damage. The oil pressure light came on, I shut it right down and had it towed to the vw shop. The dealer told me that I need a new engine, however we are not sure what the extent of the damage is. The mechanic said that there is a chance that a new oil pump could be put in and the engine will be fine. Since the car is my primary car that I need for work, I can't take the risk of putting an oil pump in and waiting to see what will happen. I would have liked to have a second opinion, however, it was not cost effective to tow this car to different mechanics. Therefore, I strongly suggest that any buyer inspect the vehicle him/herself before bidding. When brought to the dealer the engine started and ran - currently the car is at Cherry Hill Imports (VW Dealer) Route 70 East, Cherry Hill, NJ I drive a lot for work and cannot be without a car for more than a few days, therefore I'm selling the car as is. The good stuff: -1 owner vehicle-sun roof, 17" alloy wheels -a/c, cd/cassette player, power window and locks, heated front seats, aluminum wheels with little rash/wear -daily driver -interior: little wear - driver seat was only one that was really sat in -clean NJ title The bad stuff: -oil pump broken - car is not drivable due to dealerships diagnostics - engine is assembled but sitting in parking lot -has been sitting for about 1 week -small chip in lower front windshield - 1/4 inch -small dent on hood with paint chipped off -interior needs cleaned/detailed -a few minor engine and accessory components are not completely bolted back together -dent in driver side back door - might be able to be popped out no paint damage - baseball size - metal is not crinkled The Fine Print: -$200 deposit required within 48 hours of auction ending -Car sold as is! -this car must be TOWED off the location within 7 days of auction ending, or seller forfeits all monies paid.
