Vehicle Detail
1995 Jaguar XJS convertible 2+2, 4.0L 6-cylinder, automatic. Best year for this model, and only 115.000 miles (low for the year). Fully loaded with PW, PL, PS, power seats, tilt wheel, cruise control, AC, AM/FM/Cass and factory 6 disc CD changer in trunk. Awesome 17” XK8 wheels and tires- drives like on rails. Runs and drives great. Good fixer upper for summer- great car at a great price. Has current California registration. Body man special- needs body work on right front corner. Lightly hit on right front area above front bumper; damage limited to right-headlight/right-fender/hood/upper grill area. Right fender has not even been shifted to the rear- see pic of right door-fender gap- it’s perfect. Radiator not damaged- still full. Easy repair- parts are cheap and available here on Ebay (for example, look at Ebay item # 130260944510 - this is a fender that will fit the car and it's selling for only $49...) The car needs RF fender, right headlight, upper grill, hood and hood hinges. Runs/drives too well and too nice to use as a parts car. Rest of body good with good paint. All chrome and glass are very good. No rust or other damage besides a few dings here and there (one odd small ding on top of trunk lid). Tail light set is virtually perfect. Nice top with no rips, and good headliner. Interior good (needs a good cleaning and good leather conditioner), with no rips in seats and good carpets. One small puncture in driver seat- hard to see- can be repaired. Nice dash with no cracks and good wood. Power top works properly up and down. Radio/CD changer/elec antenna all work perfectly. All other electrical seems to work except windshield wipers (previous owner thought the motor was bad- a replacement motor is in the trunk, ready to be installed) and power door locks (fuse?). LR window occasionally sticks in up position when top is lowered. AC is nice and cold. The car runs and drives well, has great power, steers straight, and stops straight. The engine runs well with no odd noises, starts right up with no hesitation, stays cool, and has great power. The transmission shifts properly with no issues. Brakes are good and feel fine. The suspension and steering are fine with no obvious issues. The car has been sitting for several months, so could use a full service- change for fluids, filters, etc.,. The transmission could use a new pan gasket- do it during the fluid service. The trunk is clean with the factory installed Alpine CD player. The complete factory tool set (jack, jack handle, lug wrench and bag) is in place, and the car has a space saver spare for more room in the trunk. The battery cover is missing from the trunk- again and easy Ebay item. The wheel and tire set is AWESOME: wheels are 17x8” from 1998 XK8 and tires 245-50-17 tires. Tires are good and wheels overall are also good with only some minor scuffing here and there. Shocks are Bilstein yellow all around. Has current California registration and salvage branded title (that will be provided at sale). Last passed California emissions inspection 1-4-2010. Buyer is responsible for any emissions inspections, including those in California (If you do not agree with this term of sale, please do not bid.) This is a nice car and with a little work to fix the minor body damage would be great to own for summer and afterwards. It really is worth fixing, but could also be a great parts car. Sold “As-Is, Where-Is”. Any and all required emissions or other inspections required for registration in the buyer’s home state, including California, are the responsibility of the buyer. The car is located in Los Gatos, California, zip 95032, which is 50 miles south of San Francisco. If you’re local (like less than 20 miles away), it could be driven home. Other buyers further than that and out of state buyers should plan to have it shipped or trucked to your location. I have tried to accurately describe the car in as much detail as possible. However this is a used car, with some body damage, and an 16 year old Jaguar at that. There may be additional flaws not noticed, and other little projects for you to do.
