Vehicle Detail

1966 FORD MUSTANG 289c.i. 2bbl. (C-code), C-4 Automatic, restored, very original, factory buck tag on inner fender, believed to be original 36k mile car, factory Silver Blue Metallic paint (Y-code) and light blue/blue rosette vinyl interior (22-code), build date of October 23, 1965, original owner’s manual included with purchase date of 10-25-65 (delivery dealer was Murphy Ford of Chester, PA). The Mustang was built at the Metuchen, NJ plant. This is a super nice, original sheet metal Mustang; only had driver’s side quarter and lower quarter on passenger side change. This is your opportunity to own a very original restoration low mileage 1966 Mustang 289 that is ready to show, drive and turn heads! BODY TAGS & CODES BUCK TAG NUMBERS: 655 7 K20 6T07C134xxx 65A Y 22 DOOR VIN TAG NUMBERS: 6T07C134xxx 65A Y 22 23K 23 6 6 Body Color Trim Date DS0 Axle Transmission PAINT & BODY The Mustang is in excellent shape and the panels are very straight. The super high-gloss deep clear coat shine was just professionally wet sanded with 1200, 1500 and 2000 grit paper to achieve a high caliber ultra finish. This long process alone took over 40 hours and the finish shows it! The Mustang’s sheet metal is believed to be original and only the driver’s side ¼ and lower passenger side 1/4 was replaced. It was painted about 10 years ago but looks like it was done yesterday! There are 2 pencil eraser size blisters on the passenger side ¼ lip but are hard to see and the paint still looks fantastic. There are also a few very small paint chips that where brush touched and look fine. The bottom rocker panels are in excellent shape, very clean, not full of bondo. The floorboards, inner fenders, trunk and frame are also original and are super clean! The VIN# is also stamped on the driver side inner fender. Since being restored the Mustang has only been driven in nice weather and has low mileage. GLASS, CHROME AND TRIM The glass is in very good condition. The front windshield is newer. The original Ford side and rear glass is very nice and only has a few very small minor scratches. The bumpers are in excellent new condition as are the door handles and mirrors. The trim is clean and was polished for optimum shine. The original lower rocker panel chrome moldings are in very nice shape. INTERIOR The interior is believed to be very original and is still very clean and in excellent condition. All gauges work and operate correctly. All lighting works as should including the high/low beams, interior lights, tail lights, parking lights, turn signals, four-way flashers and glove box light. The very expensive modern digital style AM/FM Mustang factory radio sounds great. The factory AM radio is also included in the auction. The E-brake, defrosters, heater, fan and horn all work as should. DRIVE TRAIN The strong running 289c.i. makes excellent power and runs great. It is topped off with the original factory cast iron intake and factory 2-barrel with factory choke. I believe the entire drive-train is numbers matching to the car. The C-4 auto transmission is shifts beautifully through all gears. The Mustang has the factory 2.80:1 center section. This excellent drive train combo runs and drives awesome in all conditions whether highway or city driving. The entire engine bay has been restored original and looks excellent!
