Hi, one of my customers brought this into my shop, didn't want to spend money on repairs. So I sold him another diesel and worked this one into part of the exchange.Someone previously installed an '85 300D engine and left the old style transmission in the car. Of course, this affected the transmission; it has very little power. This would make a great shell of wagon for someone who has a rusty one.This wagon has zero rust. Starts right up, runs! Vacuum system works excellently. I leave the car parked for a week - unlock it, and everything unlocks - lock it, and everything locks.This wagon has AN EXCELLENT BODY. Unfortunately: Engine has issues. It appears that engine has a slight connecting rod problem. Also, the heater core has been bypassed; don't know why!(I have a good used heater core that I will include in the wagon.) Lousy interior dash (held on by a screw!) lousy engine, lousy transmission set up. MOST IMPORTANTLY: I want you to know that "some butcher of a mechanic" worked on this car before it arrived at my shop. The owner came the one time and walked away from it.So, know that I did NO WORK on this car ! You are FOREWARNED! I have a fairly low reserve.
