Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE 2002 Dodge Intrepid SE 2.7 L with bad water pump & possible head damage – 108507 miles I bought this car at CarMax in 2003 with very low miles and drove it every day until a few weeks ago when the check engine light went on. Pulled car on to shoulder but couldn’t get it started. Had it towed to mechanic and they said they pressure tested and water was pouring out the pump with possible head damage. The body and interior are in good shape for a 2002 (see pictures). The car was parked in a garage every night. This would be a good car for anyone willing to make the repairs or someone can probably make a lot of money breaking it down for parts. Had new tires put on about 9,000 miles ago (see pictures) and new ceramic hybrid breaks about 12,000 miles ago. There is a squeaky sound coming from what sounds like the front passenger side wheel when accelerating (not breaking). I asked a friend about it recently and they said it could be a loose backing plate or bad bearing. No problems with the exhaust system and passed every emissions test on the first try. Oil was always changed every 3,000 miles/3 months. The past few oil changes they had to top off the anti-freeze so there may be a leaky hose that needs replacement. The center break light on the trunk lid has a bad seal and water got in popping the light. Regular left/right rear break and all other lights work fine. All electronics work fine – windows, locks, driver seat, AM/FM radio & CD player.
