Up for auction is a 1989 Volvo 240 GL that I bought about 2 years ago from a close friend . The car belonged to her father who had passed away 12 years ago ,the car had been sitting in the garage for 10 years when they finally decided to sell it . Because it sat so long the battery was dead and tires were bad ,the car was being started periodically for the first few years and either it ran out of gas or the battery went dead .I put a few gallons of gas in it and a battery and it started up and ran like a new car. I have changed the oil ,belts ,tires ,and a few filters,and the car has been running great,its quiet and smooth and starts right up every time ,Tires are still like new! the negative is the a/c does not work ,belt is disconnected and I did not try to fix it ,paint is a great color and has a great shine but there are a lot of scratches on the hood and trunk ,that will not come off with polish ,I tried , and the scratches are still there. The scratches are from10 years of boxes and packages on it while it was in the garage ,there are also dings and scrapes here and there ,which I tried to show in the pictures . The car has a crank open sunroof ,that works great, and there are additional pads for the rear headrests that I removed for better rear visibility .The interior is in above average condition for its age ,and there are no rips or tears in the leather seats ,and yes the seats are leather ,not vinyl.radio works well ,not sure about the cassette player ,I dont have any cassettes to test it .If you have any questions or would like to see the car please leave a message or call me at 516-398-1964 my name is Andrew - Thanks for looking!!!
