Vehicle Detail

VERY RARE - 1982 DIESEL Mazda b2200 Long bed 2WD 5 Speed No Reserve High Bidder takes it. This has been an amazing truck and gets great gas mileage (High 30’s). I have owned it for 4 years and have taken care of it religiously. All major problems have been addressed. I would feel comfortable driving this anywhere. Has new clutch slave, and the transmission seems VERY strong (the only known problem area of these trucks). I have only had to replace a few parts and I have joked that this truck is the Energizer bunny, it just NEVER stops. It’s running on fairly new tires. It has the factory air conditioning which ran cold last summer but might need re-charging. I have been in a few other naturally aspirated four cylinder diesels of this era and this truck runs stronger than them all, especially considering I drive it at 5000’. When I got it I put in ball joints and front shocks. I had the starter rebuilt. I replaced the glow plug relay and all the glow plugs. The glow plug computer and control system works as from the factory. This truck always amazes me how well it starts in the winter (1st crank even if not plugged in), although I almost always plugged it in to save wear and tear. I had the bench seat re-upholstered and installed a stereo and some speakers. I also re-sealed the injection pump because it leaked. The radiator fan threw a blade one day and because I could not find a replacement I installed an electric fan off a Subaru that seems to have equal if not better airflow (actually saves power not running the mechanical fan all the time). This would be a great vegetable oil/bio diesel truck as the drive train is still in GREAT condition. The body is decent with just a few rust spots on both sides of the truck behind the front tires and a little in the bed. It has minor dings and scrapes throughout from being used to haul about everything you can think of. The previous owner used it as a sort of wheel barrow doing gravestone work. I used it mostly to commute back and forth from work (18 miles each way) and also to haul branches and misc. stuff around my place. I believe it has lived its entire life in Western Colorado so the rust described is about all that can be found and there is NONE in any structural locations. These diesel B-2200 trucks are hard to find little trucks and as good mechanical shape as it’s in should run almost forever. The windshield has cracks and rock dings but I have driven it this way since I bought it. The only other known problem is that the injection pump throttle arm shaft seems to have just begun to leak. So when it has sat for a while and is started on a cold morning it shows signs of air in the injection system and stumbles for a few seconds than runs strong all day (partly due to thicker diesel fuel). I have the original owners’ manual as well as a factory repair manual. Whoever wins this truck will not be disappointed. This is similar to the small diesel Ford courier, Isuzu, and Dodge trucks of this era, so much that most of them run the same small Mitsubishi diesel engine. This is a NO RESERVE auction with a extremely low starting bid. If you are the high bidder the truck is yours. A Pay Pal payment is due within 48 hours of the end of the auction, for the cost of vehicle or a $250 dollar deposit whichever is lower. You must also send me an email through EBay to make arrangements to pick up as soon as you make the deposit. No contact in 48 hours and I will report you to EBay and reserve the right to contact the second bidder. If you have less than 10 feedbacks please contact me by eBay email or I will cancel your bid. Balance in cash or bank certified check due on pickup, I will also assist in shipping if you make all the arrangements and all I have to do is meet the driver. Vehicle must be paid in full if shipped. Email any questions. The truck is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Please ask your questions early, as I may not be able to answer you five minutes before the auction ends.On May-14-11 at 12:50:39 PDT, seller added the following information: I wrote: "so much that most of them run the same small Mitsubishi diesel engine." and I was wrong I believe I have seen a dodge that uses this engine but the ford and mazda use Perkins motors that were developed especially for Mazda and were never offered by Perkins themselves. It is the, 2.2 L S2 - 2,209 cc - License built Perkins 4.135 used in 1979 to 1984 Mazda bongo and b2200.
