Vehicle Detail

For Sale is our 1970 Ford Mustang Hardtop with a stock 351 Cleveland engine aligned with a 4 speed manual transmission as per Marti Auto report attached in photos. I will be glad to send a copy of the Marti Report upon request if you leave your email address. The transmission is the toploader 4 speed with the reverse lockout that is fully functional. The reverse lockout locks the steering wheel when the transmission is in reverse. Until then the keys cannot be removed either. This small feature is a rarity (beginning in 1970) and sets this model apart from many others. I really hate to sell this car as my wife and I have owned this car since 1980. We dated in this car. It has been in storage 23 of those 31 years, except to drive a few times a year to keep the oil circulated. It was repainted in 1981 and with the exception of a few "war" wounds, it still draws attention at car shows. Every time I clean it up I want to keep it because it still looks sharp and drives REALLY nice (Cleveland-4 Speed)! When we drove it as a daily driver years ago, it would get somewhere between 15-18 mpg highway. Those are the strong points. Below, I have listed most of the small things wrong that I could think of that hinder it from being in perfect condition. Obviously, I can't list everything wrong, so I have taken plenty of pictures so you can be the judge as to what you think the condition of the car is in. Once again, it still drives really nice and those "steel" doors give you a real sense of protection. SLAM! They don't make'm (doors) like they used to. The title is clear and we have it in our possession. The engine starts every time. I know the odometer is once around so let's call it approximately 154,000 miles. The gauges work except the fuel gauge. I've kept fuel stabilizer in the fuel tank but last year it quit and don't know why. The power steering makes it drive really nice. It needs a new headliner because during one of those years in storage a mouse took up residency in the roof. I know! Whip me....what can I say. I had plenty of friends give me a tongue lashing over that incident. It NEEDS new tires. They hold air, but the "storage" cracks make them unsafe to drive. The front windshield is cracked. The rear trunk lid is structurally sound/solid but has been repainted to a slightly different blue. The driver's seat is cosmetically in sad condition as you can see. I am 54 years old and starting to show some wear as well. But, like this Mustang, I can still start every morning and get up and go. Not sure what else to say about this car. The pictures show/tell the story. Obviously, there is no way to show every scratch, nick, rust spot, etc. so expect wear. Questions are welcomed & encouraged. Please ask specific questions if needed BEFORE bidding and I will try to answer them all. I check my email often.
