Originally intended to replace the company's iconic 911, the 928 attempted to combine the power, poise, and handling of a sports car with the refinement, comfort, and equipment of a luxury sedan to create what some Porsche executives thought would be a vehicle with wider appeal than the compact, quirky and sometimes difficult 911. Since its inception in 1949, Porsche has manufactured only six front-engined models, four of which were coupes, including the 928. The car has the distinction of being the company's only coupe powered by a front-mounted V8 engine, and the company's first mass-produced V8 powered model. During 1983 the 928S was the fastest car sold in North America, with a top speed of 146 mph Condition: This 928S is in overall good condition. The exterior paint is in decent condition with only minor fading. A good Color Sand and Wax should help it shine better. If you notice in the pictures the headlights are in the up and on position. They were stuck up at the time the photos were taken they now work properly! This 928S has no major dents or dings on the exterior just minor wear and tear that comes with age. The interior on this 928S is in good condition with normal wear and tear on the driver and passenger seats. As usual with these 928's the dashboard has seen better days and is worn out around the vents. The previous customer has installed a new vinel piece to cover the dashboard but needs to be professionally installed to be perfect. All the guages and power seats work properly, all window switches work properly and the A/C Blows cold. Mechanically it runs and drives great, Engine fires right up everytime and there is no unusual engine noise or valve rattle. This Porsche has just had some service work done, all plugs/wires were changed out. Fluid has been changed in the engine and transmission. Mechanically this Porsche 928S is very sound.
