1999 Volkswagen Passat GLX V6 As a family, we have decided to finally sell our lovely, trustworthy Passat. This car has been meticulously maintained - we have all the records since we bought it used in 2004 when it had approximately 73,000 miles on it. This car has NEVER been in an accident - clear title, no lien (title in hand). The Passat is a V6, automatic transmission with 163k miles on it. There are other Passats that have been on eBay with many more miles on them, but not nearly as nice as this one. :) Our Passat is fully loaded with every option available from the factory plus extra. When we bought it, I quickly got the windows tinted to save the tan leather interior. I then replaced all the rotors, pads, struts, and wheel bearings. I replaced with top end components including Bilstein and EBC and OEM from the dealership, never any cheap parts. For this reason I feel we have never had any major problems with the car. I have always used full synthetic oil replaced every 6k miles. K&N filter has been cleaned every 4 months with K&N Oil only. Then we had an upgraded CD player, CD changer and Sirius unit installed by professionals. The JVC deck was purposely chosen to match with the stock interior lighting scheme (looks natural from the factory, but sounds MUCH better). The car came with the upgraded Bose system. The exterior of the car has two door dings from parking lots. The front and rear bumpers have small blemishes. Nothing major for a car this age and mileage. The transmission shifts VERY smoothly. The engine runs strong and does not burn oil. The cruise control has not worked for a couple of years. We spent nearly 900 dollars on a new steering column cruise control stalk, cruise sensor, cruise mechanical motor and after all that parts and labor, still does not work. We gave up on that, but if the new owner chooses, the last component to replace is the main cruise control module. I have ordered a 3M headlight restoration kit, so I will polish both headlights as well as I can. I have read that this kit does wonders, so I look forward to doing this last little bit and cleaning the leather interior on our Passat and handing it over to the new owner. The interior of the Passat is nice, tan leather. Like I said above, I will clean it thoroughly. The floor mats are custom "Passat" embroidered and thick, quality units. The tinting is still perfect to this day. The power seats work, but the memory for the seats has never worked for us. We still do not know if we are doing something wrong with the programming or if the memory function doesn't operate correctly. I will include a full spare 2002 VW Passat 16" rim and wheel set for winter tires. The car has stock 15" VW rims on it now. Two fully functional keys will be included. Full repair and maintenance documentation will be given to the new owner. The owners manual is included as well. I think that is about it. We are an honest family and we want you to be happy with the car, just as we have been. We bought a 2002 Passat because we love these cars so much. They are the same platform as an Audi A6 without the Audi pricetag. Formal details: The car is offered with no warranty and is being sold as-is. It is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early at any point, for any reason. I will help with shipping to a GREAT extent. If somewhat close, I will drive the car to you or we can meet 1/2 way, etc. I am very flexible with shipping. Of course, if you live on the East Coast, I will help line up shipping etc (shipping charges will be paid by the new owner).
