Vehicle Detail
1976 Ford Ranchero GT V8, AT, PS, PDB, AC, Tilt, Power seat, Power windows, Power locks, full instrumentation. remote sport mirrors, vinyl floor covering, mounted studded snow tires, Linex bed lining. This is the last year of the round headlight 'Starsky and Hutch' body style. I drove this truck regularly until the end of 2007 when my commute changed from 20 miles a day to 100. Since then she has been mostly sitting except for an occasional local trip and hauling brush, etc. The sitting outside is starting to show so rather than let her rot I am letting her go. NH doesn't issue titles on vehicles older than 10 years so she comes with a Bill of Sale.Buyer is responsible for transporting it home. The truck is no longer registered or inspected (expired 4/2011) so make appropriate plans. I accept PayPal, cash (US currency), or a certified bank check. Down payment of $500 due at end of auction, balance due and pick-up of truck within 10 days of auction end. I reserve the right to reject bids from bidders with zero or bad feedback. Door plate data: Date: 06/76 Body: 97R Color: 5Q Trim: CZA Trans: U Axle: 2 DSO 71 Drivetrain (original): 400 CID, 2 barrel carburetor - fuel pump, double-row timing chain and oil pump installed approximately 5000 miles ago. Custom bent Dual Exhaust system was put on in 2005. C6 transmission with towing valve body, Ford 9” (open) rear-end with 2.76:1 gear ratio Power Steering, Power Brakes with Front Disk/Rear DrumI replaced the starter in 2005 with one of those high-torque mini starters and the solenoid and battery were replaced last year. She starts & runs fine. Interior: Original GT package with badging, gauges (Speedo, Tach, Temp, Amps, Oil, Fuel and Clock), Power bench seat, Power Windows, Power Locks, Air Conditioning and tilt wheel. Carpeting was replaced with non-GT vinyl floor covering. Original AM-FM radio has been replaced with an AM-FM-CD player. Original (never used) H70-14 bias ply spare tire still in well behind seat. Exterior: Original color (but no GT stripes), GT badges, Magnum 500 rims, Dual remote control sport mirrors. Bed has been coated by LINEX corp. What’s wrong with it: The rear brake line from the master cylinder is bad. The rear brakes are NOT working (disconnected from master cylinder). A new line can be bought from Dearborn Classics for about $40 (http://www.dearbornclassics.com/72-76-ranchero-torino-rear-axle-brake-lines-2-line-1.html). I did drive her around locally last fall after the line let go, but I strongly recommend that you trailer her home after purchase. The windshield leaks on the passenger’s side when it rains hard. There is a dent in the tailgate. The headliner needs to be replaced The clock works when it wants to. The AC compressor locked up so belt was removed. Some bubbling and rust has started along the door bottoms and there are rust holes behind the wheels but the underneath (frame and floors) is still solid. If selling price is higher than $1500 I will include these items as well: A new (rebuilt) master cylinder, new door/window seals, Ranchero fender emblems, two additional Magnum 500 rims with trim rings, a (used) AC compressor with clutch – worked on donor car'Brackets, throttle cable and drive shaft to convert the truck from a 400 to a 302/351W or 351C . These are the actual paper Ranchero Shop Manuals - not the CD. I will include them in the batch of extras if winning bid exceeds $1500.
