Vehicle Detail
1985 Honda GL1200 Goldwing Aspencade, full dress with alot of extra chrome and lights, along with all the top of the line Aspencade accessories including Panasonic stereo, C.B., intercom, onboard compressor for the air suspension, and digital dash, all work good. Original paint is shiny and smooth, has custom scroll work and a Corbin seat. Runs and rides nice, starts, idles, and runs out smooth, no leaks or noises/smoke, very tight motor. But, the charging system is not putting out good power, I got a 12-12.5v output reading when I tested it, should be 13-14v. There is a mystery wire down by the battery, was hooked up at one time, when I ground to it vs. the neg battery side, it shows strong 14v output power on the tester...what that wire is, or where it goes, no idea..have not tried a new battery in it, but it will have one that goes with it,.messed with it for 15-20mins and never got back to it. So, assume the worst, a stator replacement, (part is fairly cheap, $150-$200, but I believe it's a big job labor wise, or install a po-boy alt kit?) and hope for a bad regulator or just plain wire unhooked...Nice enough to warrent putting a little time and money into, it a sharp, clean bike with alot of miles left. Has a chrome lighted chin spoiler and full floorboards also---Comes with a cover, factory Aspencade owner's manual, and a repair manual too----Everything else works fine, lights, signals, brakes, clutch and accessories. Good rubber on both ends. Has a couple small scratches/dings, but nothing very noticeable. The throttle side mirror has been damaged and glued, and the windsheild vent wing has a crack that is taped on the same side, other than that no damage. Clear title. Take a look, ask me any questions, Thanks---Low reserve
