Up for sale is a 1992 3000gt VR4 with 68934 Actual miles. I bought the car about 5 years ago from a friend of the family with 38000 miles on it; the car is very fun to drive, comfortable and looks great. The oil was changed with Mobil 1 synthetic by the previous owner and I have changed it with nothing but the Mobil 1 15000 mile synthetic. I did not abuse this car at all I basically babied it, it was my weekend driver. That being said I will advise to be very cautious about buying one of these vehicles without the parts that I have put into it. When I first bought the vehicle I had them change the timing belt, water pump, belts, thermostat, fan thermostats, spark plugs, and hoses, as well as camshaft seal crank seals and many other misc. parts. The shop gave me parts at cost and half price labor the total was $1909.14 At around 45000 miles the car started acting funny little did I know that basically all these ECU's in these cars go bad if you do not replace the capacitors. So I replaced several things put a walbro 255lph fuel pump in took it to a shop they miss diagnosed it. Finally I bought a rebuilt ECU for it the total for all this was around $1000. At about 54000 miles the transmission went out on me or started grinding in the transfer case also a common problem on these, I replaced the carrier bearings on the driveshaft, and had the transmission rebuilt with a new clutch total cost was $4300. Also put an IPS downpipe on which was $379 still have stock downpipe if buyer wishes. The car runs good and pulls hard but does still have several issues which are why I’m selling it for cheap. The climate control display does not light up but the heat and AC still work. It needs to be rebuilt and have new capacitors put in. You can buy 1 for around $150. The tachometer stopped working recently not sure why probably an easy fix. The pilot bearing seems to be loose in the transmission ”makes noise when you let off the clutch” could probably be fixed for around $300. The radio seems to have some issues as well probably a very cheap fix. Has serveral scratches from people scraping it in parking lots. The interior is in good condition; car still looks great and is fun to drive. I recently bought a new car and now have 3 vehicles so this 1 has got to go my loss is someone else’s gain on this one. I hate to sell it but I just don’t have room for it anymore. If you are in the market for one of these cars DO NOT BUY ONE without at least a rebuilt ECU and transmission. I have receipts for most the parts that total over $6000. The tires are also in good shape, over all you can get an incredible vehicle and have it almost like new with a little bit more money invested.
