1968 Shelby GT500KR being sold by actor Michael Ironside who's owned it for twenty years. Mike wanted a Shelby that would scream, and handle, but still look stock with the hood up so all mods are subtle and returnable to stock. Over $25K in engine and drivetrain mods; Date coded 428 Cobra-jet block, custom Diamond forged pistons with 9 to 1 compression for Maximum Performance with pump gas, slightly grumpy cam, jet-hot coated factory Cobra-jet exhaust manifolds (a must in a cramped Shelby engine bay), Beautifully engineered 2-1/2 inch exhaust with x-pipe for free flowing and great throaty, mellow sound. Nearly-Concourse engine bay detailing. Custom big input wide ratio top-loader 4-speed with 3.25 trac-loc in the original NASCAR 9 inch rear end for fantastic acceleration and good cruising RPM. All done by fellow actor and car builder Jeff Jensen, a.k.a. "The Mustang Whisperer". Suspension: Total Control springs, Subframe connectors, Koni's, lowered upper control arms, (Shelby mod.) All expertly installed by Jim at Simpson Frame in Hollywood. Car includes Marti report and 95 percent build sheet. We welcome your inspection in Los Angeles, California.
