This is a 1974 Volkswagon Thing with 13070 original miles. It was taken by ferry to Cumberland Island off the coast of Georgia when it was new and that's where it spent it's entire life until recently. The good news about it spending it's life on an island with no paved roads is the low original miles, the bad news is it has a lot of rust. The floor panel appears to have some fiberglass work done on it, and there is rust throughout the vehicle. I just put a new carburator, battery and fuel filters on it and it cranks up and runs great. All of the lights work but for it to be mechanically sound it needs tires, brakes, tie rod ends and ball joints. You could invest a small amount of money and have it road ready and drive it like it is or if your looking for a full restoration you would need some new floor panels and some body panels, windshield etc. It is being sold as is but the buyer is welcome to come inspect and drive it around the neighborhood.
