For sale, one 2004 BMW R1150GS complete with a few nice farkles. This bike has about 47K miles on the chassis, but has been well taken care of. The odometer says 30K miles, but that's because the dash was replaced at just around 16K miles. Still got the original unit with the bike, and that will go with it. Oil changes religiously every 3K miles with a good quality synthetic and the bike runs strong and fun! Notes about the stock stuff; * The toolkit is still in place and still has all of its parts, even the puncture repair kit. Thankfully I've never needed it, but it's nice to know it's there! * The bike has a few scuffs and scrapes; it's a dual purpose and has been off-road a few times in its life... this is inevitable. * I have two windshields for the bike... the one that's on it and one that's still in the packaging. So, with this awesome adventure bike we have; * Custom Corbin seat with yellow piping that beautifully matches the bike. Stock seat is still with the bike, but I like the Corbin! * Full crash bars (as you can see in the pictures). Again, because of off-road there are a few scrapes... but that adds character! * Custom HID riding lights (Eclipse) mounted on the bars. One of them is out unfortunately, but easily replaced. * Headlight and high beam replaced with HIDs. Makes for a much brighter ride! * Gorgeous metal panniers that are removable but usually left on the bike. They feel and look like ammo boxes! * Battery replaced with a gel battery, and has a battery tender harness already on it. This is one fun bike, and I have loved riding and owning it. This bike can be ridden all day and haul a surprising amount of gear. This is very similar to the bikes used in The Long Way Round where Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman rode R1150GS Adventures around the world in all sorts of environments. I just don't ride it the way I wanted to when I got it, so I'm going back to a sport bike (which suits my riding style better)... so take advantage of this sale of a beautifully equipped GS and take it on the adventures I haven't been able to. Buyer is responsible for any inspections and/or shipping... but I will help out where I can.On Apr-18-11 at 06:34:24 PDT, seller added the following information: Quick revision: In the interests of full disclosure I should also point out that the fuel gauge doesn't work properly on the bike. This is just due to a bent float on the sender that was tweaked when the fuel filter was replaced. This is a VERY common problem on the GS and can be rectified by removing the tank and bending the armature back into place. Note though that the low fuel light does work because it has its own sender, and thus I've actually never seen a need to take the time to pull the tank off and fix it. However, the bike itself is functionally perfect. I've recently changed the oil and oil filter, and replaced all four spark plugs. In its life this bike has been lots of places and I'm sure has lots of places still to take the rider. It tracks straight and true and can run all day without hassle and return mid to high 40's mpg (I consistently get about 44mpg in mixed riding). If you're planning to take her off-road then I'd recommend some different tires, but other than that she's ready to go and ready to ride.
