for sale 82 vw westfalia. I am selling this van because i bought it as a project and i dont have time to finish it .Most of the work it needs is cosmetic interior work let me start by telling you hat the van was originally a diesel engine but at some point one of the previous owners replaced that with a 1.6 L gas engine from a vw jetta. The engine runs fine and i have not had any trouble with it. it has a little more power and torque. it has a 4 sp manual transmission and second gear makes a little noise when shifting into second. Once its in gear it is normal and the other gears shift just fine i had it looked at and the mechanic said it was not really anything to worry about. i never did anything about it because i was gona place a subaru engine in it and change the tranny but i never got that far. i had started on the interior and was working on the headliners when the project kinda got bogged down i have all the interior pieces plus some extras and some new stuff that will all be included with the sale It has brand new tires brake pads and rotors up front shoes in the back and socks al the way around. The van has all the usual westfalia goodies fridge, two burner stove , fold out bed back seat pop top,two folding tables , swivel capitan chairs. The canvas for the pop toop is in pretty good shape no rips or patches. the top does not leak. The exterior is in ok shape the paint could be redone but no major dents or dings just 30 years of normal use i never got to use the van it just sat in the driveway getting fixed up slowly but i dont hae the time to finish.
