Vehicle Detail
This is a very original 1969 Mustang Fastback. 302 with C4 automatic transmission, power steering, foldown rear seat and original AM/FM radio. It still has the original carb, raditator, fan shroud and air cleaner with heat riser from exhaust manifold. It has one previous family owner and comes with original plastic card from dealer with owner's name imprinted. Origiinally Winter Blue with blue interior. It has had one repaint year ago in Alcapulco Blue and it will obviously need paint and bodywork. The body is pretty straight with a few minor dents and creases, I see no evidence of previous accidents. There is rust in the usual spots such as door corners, below tailights, lower right fron fender, trunk lid and driver's side front inner fender aprons. The car sat for many years in mud and the right front frame rail is rusted in front of the shock tower and around on the crossmember the goes under the radiator. It also has rust in the torque box and where the torque box meets the frame rail on that side. The frame rail and torque box on the driver's side look fine. The floors look pretty good from underneath except for a litle rust in the driver's side rear floor but once the carpet is pulled up they may need some work. The rear frame rails, quarter panels and trunk drop offs look very nice with only a little rust in the passenger quarter behind the rear wheel. I have the trunk key but I am unable to get the trunk open. The trunk looks good from under the car but that's all I can tell. The interior is all original and untouched. There are no speaker holes or modifications. It will need to be restored including carpet, headliner, dashpad, etc. Foldown seat is all there but there is rust on chrome trim and trap door. The engine runs and doesn't seem to smoke, although there is a slight lifter tick. The transmission goes into forward and reverse. The car has no brakes so it is not drivable. Lights and turn signals work but wipers and heater don't work and I haven't looked into it. While this car will need some rust repair by a qualified person it is very original and unmolested which is very hard to find. Car is sold as is and is available for inspection by appointment. I reserve the right to the the auction at any time but I plan to let the auction runs its course. I will not disclose the reserve in fairness to all bidders but it is very reasonable. I have done my best to describe the car but it is a 42 year old car and it is not perfect. $500 deposit due within 3 days of auction end, remainder due within 7 days. Car must be picked up within 21 days of payment being made unless prior arrangements are made. Shipping arrangements and expense are the responsibility of buyer. I will add pictures of the engine compartment on Tuesday evening.
