This 1956 Chrysler Windsor has a poly 331 with the push button automatic. I purchased this car with the top end of the motor in pieces b/c the one who owned it before me thought one of the heads had a crack in it. Well, he was wrong I finished taking the heads off and took them to my machine shop, they cleaned them and reworked them costing me 306 dollars. There were no cracks they were in good shape. I put the heads back on and tourqed them to the right specs and continued putting it back together, using mostly new grade 8 bolts. I got through the boxes he gave me and there were no pulleys, fan, and radiator which I knew about that. I have not looked for these parts anywhere b/c I had started on another project and put this one on the back burner. When I had the heads off, the cylinders looked excellent and there was no ridge at all at the top of the block. The right exhaust manifold had two cracks in it and was broken in three pieces, I think that is what his main problem was. So it will need the pulleys, fan, radiator, and right hand exhaust manifold before it can be started. The body is in very good shape for it's age all but the right rear quarter panel is totally eat to pieces which you can see in the picture. The floorboards and trunk floor seem to be solid. There is a big dent in the back on top of the roof, the right rear door window is missing and the driver's side door window is shattered. The chrome is still in pretty decent shape and all lights are in good shape except for the right rear is busted. The interior is decent but will need new carpet and seat covers. The car has tires on it that were bought new years ago and don't hardly have a 100 miles on them. The title is CLEAR and in my name, no bs that it is open or it just needs to be notorized. It took me five months to track the last owner down and get the car put in my name b/c the idiot that I bought it from never did, and he could not believe how he let the car go, he showed me car trophies he had won with this car at shows many years ago. This car still has a lot of potential and would be beautiful finished, I just lost interest and moved to another project. One more thing the guy never gave me a key to the car he claimed he lost it and I never had one made. If someone buys it and is going th the Mopar show in Rockingham NC I can bring it down there, it is April 16. I live in Mcleansville NC 27301. Don't bid if you don't plan on paying for it.
