35,000 original miles! Levi's denim interior edition!! I'm listing this car for a friends mother who has recently lost her license due to age. This is a Gremlin X with a 4.2 Litre (258ci) inline 6, automatic transmission, air conditioning and has the Levi's interior!! Its always been well taken care of as you can tell from the pictures and i do have maintenance records dating back to the late 1990's that will go with this car for your records. Some of the things shes had replaced or repaired that you'll find in these records have been the alternator, regulator, carburator, fule pump and line, battery, starter and some hoses. The only signs it really has of wear is on one of the panels on the drivers seat (she has had seat covers on them since day one which is another reason there in such good shape) from the use it has had over the last 30 plus years and also on the drivers side the stripe is faded and cracked because where it was parked the garage the sun would shine on it through the window so other than those two areas the car is in great condition and starts up and runs and drives just as it did when it was brand new. Its completely solid, no rust issues at all other than your typical surface rust here and there on the underside. There is a little overspray on the inside of the drivers side door from where its been touched up at some point but other than that this is a wonderful, LOW mileage, origional car! This really is a great little car and has been very well taken care of through out its life, please feel free to call me with any questions and i will try to answer them as best as possible and if i cant ill pass you on to the owners son and see if he can answer your questions. 319-389-0815 **************UPDATE 4-3-11******************* Today i was finally able to get the car out of storage and i jacked up and crawled around underneath it and to my surprise i found a few rust issues but only on the back side of the rocker panels, the floor and the frame both look great as i stated earlier with only a little bit of surface rust which is not surprising to find on any old car. (it was just the areas that i couldn't see by sticking my head under the car on my first inspection while taking pictures) the car does have an under coating on it quite possibly from the factory. There also appeared to have been some bondo used to repair some rust along the very bottom of the car where some touch ups have obviously been done. the radio is am/fm and it does work, the tires looked great, they don't look dry and there not cracked and they do have quite a bit of tread left. when i attempted to turn the air conditioning on the fan was unresponsive so that will need to be addressed. ill load a couple pictures on monday of what it was that i saw. ************* UPDATE 4-7-11******************** Sorry it took so long to upload the pictures, apparently your not able to add photos or edit the listing while offers on pending. the pictures of the rocker panels are taken with the camera back by the rear wheels looking forward one down the drivers side and the other down the passengers side. as you can see in the pictures the floor and frame both look great which i was why i was so shocked to see that the rockers were in the condition they were in when i crawled under the car. I also spoke with the owner and she said that the reason for the overspray is that in 2000 she scraped the passenger side quarter backing or pulling into her garage and so she took it in to get touched up and thats when they went around the car and touched up whatever was in need and that was the same time that the bondo was applied to any area that was in need. the car is sold as-is, ask questions if i didnt cover something as i have just described this car to the best of my knowledge. i can assist in shipping arrangments if needed and also if there are specific pictures you would like ask and ill go out and take them. if your from the area feel free to contact me and come inspect the car or if your not from the area there is a well known classic car dealer in cedar rapids that offers inspection services that is only a mile or so away from my climate controlled warehouse.
