Vehicle Detail
The time has come to part ways with my 1990 hatch. I have owned this this car for 13 years. This car is far from perfect but I believe this is an excellent example of a well cared for 21 year old car. The car is mostly stcok except for some suspension and exhaust pieces. The car has maximum motorsport caster/camber plates, full length subframe connectors, oversized 2 core radiator, shorty's, and a catback. The interior is also mostly stock except for an Alpine cd player, JBL seperates and Autometer oil and temp gauges. The car has 163,xxx miles, but continues to be my daily driver. The motor was refreshed at 100k with rings, bearings, gaskets, and the heads were rebuilt. The transmission was rebuilt about 10k ago, at which time the clutch was also replaced with a motorsport king cobra clutch and I think a pro 5 0 shifter. Most everything is in working condtition, including the AC and heater (exceptions noted below). Passed CA. smog with no problems 6 months ago. Car has no visible leaks and will burn about half a quart of oil every 3k. I have the title and the vehicle was registered this month and is valid until 3/2012 THE BAD The car has a dent on the hood and some of the paint has cracked around the area of the front bumper due to a parking lot accident. No damage was done to the core support, all damage is visible in the photos. Nicks, door dings and paint chips as to be expected on a vehicle of this age. The entire vehicle was sprayed in 1997 when I first bought the car, about two years ago I sprayed the front and rear bumpers to repair some paint flaking. When the bumpers were painted the painter blended the paint up to the cowl and along the fenders, you can see a color change from the doors to the fenders. Under normal sunlight it is not that evident but on a cloudy day like today it is really evident as can be seen in these pictures. The car will need 4 tires and an alignment, these tires are at about 2/32nds. Airbag light flashes continuously. The original owner was a smoker. The headlined has a burn mark in it. The center console also had signs of being a smokers car so I replaced it with a center from an 89. The piece is very clean and has a working ashtray door but the grays are two different shades, more noticable in photos than in person. Driver seat has a small seperation where the vinyl meets the fabric. I never replaced the sending unit from the ford unit to the autometer sending unit so the oil pressure gauge reads high, about 100psi. Volt gauge is stuck at 18 volts. Windows were tinted in the late 90's and the tint has bubbled on the rear window. Has a two stage alarm but I removed the horn. I live next to a busy street and I got tired of hearing the warning chirps. Keyless entry and flashing lights are still functional. The clutch was replaced with a motorsport heavy duty clutch. This clutch pedal is very very heavy and takes some getting used to. My wife drives the car on a regular basis so it's not unbearable, but I felt it should be mentioned. BOTTOM LINE I have mixed emotions about selling the car. I sold it 4 years ago to a stranger in the San Fernando valley. After 1 year I tracked it down and bought it back because I missed it. Stupid I know. I'm going to try to part with it again, but don't be surprised if I call you one day asking if you would be willing to sell me the car back. I have given as much info as I can remember but I'm sure I'm forgetting something. If you are intrested please e-mail me and I can answer any questions you may have. * VEHICLE IS WELL CARED FOR AND HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED BUT DUE TO THE AGE OF THE VEHICLE IT IS BEING SOLD AS IS WITH NO WARRANTY *** $450.00 deposit due 72 hours after auction end and final payment will be due before vehicle delivery, not to exceed 7 days after auction end unless agreed upon by both parties ** I will be as flexible as possible with delivery but pick up or shipping arrangements are the responsiblity of the buyer.
