Vehicle Detail

No reserve! This is a very original Dark Red 1979 Mercedes-Benz 240d Diesel. It is in very good driving condition and fires right up regardless of the weather. The previous owner replaced all the bushings, shocks, brakes, clutch, battery, and many other things over the last year and a half. It was driven back and forth between Lincoln and Omaha, NE for work and was trouble free always. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. It would be very easy to convert it to bio-diesel if desired also. Many people do that with these. It has the manual sunroof, locks, and windows so it will be trouble free. Most everything works, gauges, heater, fans, lights, defrost, original radio, emergency brake. The A/C will need charged as it is rarely used. It has all the original owner's manuals and books along with the original protect-o-plate as seen in the pictures. It also has several of the maintenance records of the work done by the previous owner. The interior is in good original condition. It is all complete and original. The wood around the radio and controls is coming unglued, but it would just need to be stuck back on smooth, it is still on there as original. It has the original spare tire in the trunk, and I will put brand new tires on for the new owner if desired at my expense! The paint is presentable going down the road and it does get a lot of compliments. I would say it's a 20footer because I'm picky. It is not perfect. Mainly the paint on the hood is faded and flat and worn, the top and trunk are pretty good along with most of the sides and chrome trim. No real dents and no rust except for just behind the rear wheels on the very bottom which can be seen in the pictures. It doesn't appear to have ever been in an accident or anything either. It is a really fun unmolested Mercedes and a good driving car and can save a lot of gas and is ready to be driven. The odometer does not currently function currently reads 146,635 and works when it wants to as all of these old Mercedes do. That would be the only thing other than the A/C needing charged that I can think of. As stated before I will also put on brand new tires for the new owner also out of my pocket! Clean and clear title in hand. Please email with any and all questions and feel free to come look at the car before auction end as it is an original classic vehicle. No trades, thanks. I do accept Paypal, cashier's check from a verifiable bank, or cash. No reserve, the highest bid wins! If you have feedback of less than 5 please email me to let me know you are a serious bidder before placing your bid or I may cancel your bid. The winning bidder will have 7 days after the auction closes to complete the payment in full. A non-refundable deposit of $100 must be sent within 48 hours of auction close, the balance in full within 7 days. The title or car will not be released until the payment clears the bank. I can keep the car here 30 days after the auction close if you need additional time to pick it up also, no problem. I can help with shipping by taking the car to a shipping terminal in Lincoln, NE or Omaha, NE if the winning bidder uses a shipping company in one of those locations, or meet the winning bidder at the airport in Lincoln, NE or Omaha, NE once the car is paid in full and the payment clears my bank. The title or car will not be released until the payment clears my bank. Please ask if you have any questions or would like any additional information. The car is as-is no warranty so please ask all questions and/or please come look at the car before the auction ends as it is a classic used vehicle and I have done my best to describe it accurately.
