It's a driver's car, best described as a little Ferrari, which it basically is. This car is a very good driver and starts every time on the first turn of the key and quickly settles down to a smooth even idle. The handling is brilliant and it sits on good 15”Bridgestone Potenza tires. The engine, transmission and breaks are all in very good condition. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. The car is now 20 years old so please expect to have to give it some tlc. Primarily the driver’s seat is beginning to show some wear, the dash has a crack just above the glove box and sometimes when shifting aggressively you hear a slight noise in the rear end but not a clutch grind or any gear grind. More like it needs fresh rear end lubricant or a mount is loose in the rear. The car shifts wonderfully into every gear and the clutch is very good, these cars greatly benefit from being used and I have had it covered and stored in a climate controlled building now for almost as I have a Porsche 911 and Maserati Spider that I play with as well in the summer but with the economy the way it is frankly one of them has to go to cover using the other two for the summer. The convertible top is the high quality cloth type and the rear window is very clear and clean (toneau cover is in the trunk). The door panels are very good and the sunvisor are as well and they stay in place without flipping down over bump). The clock still works as well. It is not in concours condition. The paint has had touch-ups and looks very good as you can see in the pictures and has never been in an accident and still turns heads all day long. The styling, the quality of materials, the smooth eager Twin Cam four engine and 5 speed manual transmission create a strong impression on those who like usable sports cars. I love Alfa's, because they just seem to speak to me (loudly). I have owned them for the last 15 years they are well made reliable cars and this one can be used daily right now or with a little tlc could be in show condition. I frequently see 4th generation spiders advertised at prices of $9500 - $12000 and with Alfa Romeo cars coming back to America in 2012 the prices could reasonably be expected to escalate.
