Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a peppy 1987 Chevy Spring Turbo. It's a turbocharged 3-cylinder engine 1.0L with a 5-speed. If you know anything about cars, which I'm sure you do since your looking at this page, then you already know the incredible gas mileage this car is capable of. I have drove this car for two years now and would continue to drive but I need the money for college. My loss is your gain especially since the gas prices are suppose to be extremely high this summer. The car doesn't burn oil and has had the engine rebuilt by the 2nd previous owner. The previous owner didn't have it long. I'm not sure if the turbo has been rebuilt but I've never had a problem with it. I run synthetic oil for the better mileage and if you think I'm foolish for doing so I saw an immediate gain of 2-3 mpg ever since running synthetic. The car does have seat covers on it that can be removed if you would like. It does have some rust that you can see from the pictures. There is a rust spot under the driver seat floor that you may not be able to see in the pictures. When you brake, the steering wheel does shake a bit depending on how hard you brake. It does come with a cd player that has a wire to plug in an ipod directly. You can control your ipod through the receiver while it is being charged which I find very convenient. The speakers in the back are zip-tied to the back hatch but it gets the job done. Mileage DescriptionLast summer I would get ~47 mpg consistently. The best I ever got was 52 mpg. During the winter I will get around ~43mpg. Right now I'm getting ~42 mpg and I will get into details with that further down. The bad:There is an exhaust leak that has caused me to get worse gas mileage or atleast that's what I believe. The transmission could be in better shape and will probably have to have the clutch replaced sometime in the future. It sometimes fights to go into 1st or 2nd but I have never had this car not get me from point A to point B. If the steering wheel wobble bothers you then I would look into brakes. A note on the odometer. It doesn't read into the 100,000s. The previous owner stated it was in the 200,000s but I can't confirm that. I do believe it though. Final word:This car is my heart and soul and it hurts to get rid of. If your looking for one of the cheapest cars to find thats arguably the most efficient means to travel, then this is the car for you. Also, don't plan on getting any girls with this vehicle. Unless that girl is into amazing gas mileage. Happy bidding.
