Up for auction is a 1999 Subaru Forester L 4DR AWD in as is condition. Car has been owned by my sister since new. Exterior is in pretty good shape, no major rust or dents, just a few scratches and dings. Interior is also in pretty good shape as shown in the pictures. Features automatic transmission, AM/FM cassette player, power windows and door locks. Car has 2.5L engine had head gaskets and timing belt replaced at around 170K and was just replaced recently again around 205k due to a broken hose which caused the engine to overheat. Unfortunately, the second replacement did not last for long as it is suspected that the head gasket bolts were reused which I am told can lead to premature gasket failure. Currently the car is getting combustion into the coolant causing it to overheat, and also the coolant is intermittently fouling out one of the sparkplugs. Prior to that the car was running great, transmission shifted nicely. The only other noted problems are that the speedometer sometimes does not work, although the odometer is fine, and it needs new tires as they are all pretty worn but still hold air. Prefer local sale, as it must be towed in its current condition, but willing to work with a transporter of your choice at your expense if you want it shipped. For local sale cash or money order would be best. Prefer payment within 3 days after auction completion, as funds are needed for replacement vehicle.
