Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1966 Austin Healey Sprite. I purchased this car two years ago. The car originally came from Dallas TX and is completely rust free. Original floor panels, rockers, fenders, etc. The car is currently not running, blown head gasket. Low compression in number 1 &2 cyl. I've replaced it several times and it keeps going. I don't have the time any longer to play with this car. It had been running last year and is a blast to drive, a real head turner! Never fails to raise attention wherever I take it! I have done many upgrades and put alot of money into it, but now it is time to move on. My loss, your gain. This car really needs someone who is more familiar with this car and engine to get her running again. I really don't think it would be that hard. I will try to list all the new upgrades and parts that I have put into her. Within the last two years I have done the following: New Monza/Pacesetter header and sport muffler system, Weber downdraft carb, Pertronix electronic ignition and coil, new battery, radiator was flushed and re-sealed, electric cooling fan, new timing chain and sprokets, head was machined, new tie-rod ends, all new rubber bushings in the suspension, fuel pump, brake lines and hoses. Have many, many extra parts also, all goes with car. I started to make this into a bugeye clone and installed the bugeye rear overriders, I still have the original rear bumber in great shape. I have a complete bugeye bonnet that is almost ready to install and included is a useable grille, parking lights and even a tilt hinge set-up that I paid over $100 for. The car had been blasted before I got it and I that I had to do was to clean-up the metal and I then sprayed it with green epoxy primer. I put the flames on just for fun untill I was going to put the bugeye bonnet on. The interior is pretty basic. seats are in nice condition and I think they are from a bugeye. I made new door panels and used fake Ostritch leather for the inserts and they look great. The carpet is just some indoor/outdoor black carpet from Home Depot. The steering wheel is an old aftermartket Superior 500 with walnut rim, brand new walnut shift lever and a brand new side bullet racing mirror. I'm sure that I overlooked some items, please feel free to ask any questions and I will try and get back to you in a timely manner. I placed a reserve on this car, as I don't want to give it away, there are many valuable upgrades and many spare extra parts included. A non-refundable deposit of $500 will be required at the end of the auction. I will assit loading the car at my location, but all shipping costs are to be covered by the buyer. I would like to have the car picked up within 30 days of the end of the auction. Thanks for looking, good luck bidding!
