THE OVERVIEW Offered for an appreciating new owner is this rare collectible classic 1988 BMW 635CSi with 5 speed manual transmission! This rust-free west-coast E24 chassis 6er shark has been driven an Autocheck certified 75,600 miles since new. It features the high-compression 208 horsepower 3.5 liter inline six cylinder engine mated to the rare factory 5 speed transmission. This is a rare find for the Bimmerphile being a later model 5 speed. It sports upgraded 16" alloy wheels with excellent rubber, full leather interior with electric front seats and rear seat cooler console. Other sports, luxury and safety amenities include cruise control, electric windows and two-function sunroof, am/fm/cassette stereo, driver side air bag, anti-lock brakes and rear sunshade. As I hope is articulated in the photos this is NOT a concourse show-quality example but is a true low-mileage car with the rare and desireable 5 speed stick. It does currently sport a very "lackluster" repaint from a few years back that vaguley resembles the original bahama beige metallic factory finish. The car also shows various blemishes and imperfections on the body with paint cracking and peeling on the front spoiler. THE INTERIOR. The interior of this non-smoker car is in fair condition. The dash has some cracking, the drivers side door panel is coming undone a bit, the driver seat leather is a bit rough and the recline gear needs attention. The radio is inop [a code issue], a/c not blowing cold. The shifter boot is tattered, the passenger seat leather is decent and the rear seat leather is quite good. THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE This 6er shark starts, runs and drives fairly well. The acceleration is strong and smooth, the shifting is tight and correct, the braking is strong and true [with working anti-lock function]. The suspension is in good condition as well.
