I bought this truck 6 years ago as a parts truck due to rust and found out when we went to pick it up that it had 57k original miles. That being said, the frame was completely rusted through so we removed the body, engine, axle etc, found a new frame, had it sand blasted, painted it and put the engine, body etc. back on. During that work, we replaced the ball joints, seals, whatever else on the frame that needed replacing. In addtion, when we first started it the timing belt broke so we removed the head and had a valve job done, new push rods and rocker arms, new timing belt and whatever else needed replacing at the time. After a two month process the truck ran great and has been driven for the past 5 years. When we finished the truck, I sold it to a friend who put the miles it has on it. He now has a family with three children and has no need for the truck so he gave it back to me. I have two similar trucks already and although this truck runs the best of all, I need to get it to someone who can use it. I would like to say that it is rust free but couldn't hide that lie. The truck came out of PA and as mentioned the frame was rusted thru. There are several holes in the body where we have cleaned and painted to prevent further rust. The past five years in NC, the rust hasn't spread. There is also a hole in the wheel well on the passenger side. Anyone with a good body could make an awsome diesel truck out of this or anyone willing to do some sheet metal work would have a great truck or just drive it with the holes. With this few miles, it runs like new. The truck is sold where it is so you will have to make arrangements to come and get it. I cannot ship it or make arrangements for you. The tires are good, but not sure I would drive across country on them. Truck has a bed liner to hide the holes in the bed. As mentioned the body is not the best. Interior is good with the exception of the damaged seat cover. It does have a operational tach which is not a standard option on these trucks. In addition, the transmission was rebuilt about 2 years ago and a new clutch put in. Since then, I think it has only been driven about 10k miles. On Feb-25-11 at 14:01:51 PST, seller added the following information: To those interested, the truck has the C223, 2.2L isuzu diesel in it. The engine is rated somewhere near 60Hp if I am not mistaken. In addition, it has A/C with all of the components, we just never charged it to see if it worked after we did the frame replacement. Also, it has a 5 speed transmission. The heater core was replaced with new in the last 4 months. Following the sale, I discovered that 5th gear on the transmission is making a noise and I suspect that the transmission will need a bearing kit. My intent is to sell the truck as is and the purchaser is made aware of the condition of the transmission and takes responsibility for its repair. The previous buyer decided not to take the truck in this condition once I disclosed it to him and I completely understand.
