No Reserve Auction Hello everyone this is my fathers 300td Wagon ( Non-Turbo) and we are looking for a new home for this car. My father has owned the car for about 2 years now. He bought it form the 2nd owners, who owned the vehicle for the majority of its life. It has seen probably less then 5000 miles ever since my dads owner ship. My dad has relocated over seas and passed this car on to me. I already own 3 vehicles and this beautiful car just sits in the garage so I have decided to sell it. I recently took the car on a 400 mile round trip and it drove just fine averaging about 70 to 80 mph. The car drove very well. Prior to the trip I had a local Mercedes shop perform a full service that included a new battery, all three diesel fuel filters, all belts and all the fluids. The Michelin tires that are on the car are about 3 years old but are near brand new as the car has not seen much use in the last few years. The car came to use with two thick files of service records. One of the files was lost. The service file that I have shows over 12 years of service records. As you can see from the pictures the cars paint and exterior trim is very fresh as it received a professional paint job from a reputed body and paint shop in 2008. Total cost of the paint job and exterior body trim was about $4300.00 and I do have the receipt for it. I am not a expert on this car but I will say that this is probably the nicest 32 year old car I have ever seen. I get complements on the car every time I take it out. Clean car with no accidents. This is a true southern car and does not show rust. The front drivers side fender does however show a few (dot sized) paint bubbles. The dash has 3 cracks in it. The arm rest has a tear in it and the drivers side seat has a seam that is coming loose. The passenger side seat has 3 tiny tears in the seat. The rear speaker panel has a slight dip in it. All of these things are repairable and other then these blemishes the car is very presentable and I would say the interior has fared very well for a 32 year old car with 287k on it. The heater in the car works very well. The a/c does not blow cold. The passenger side power windows work, the drivers sides windows just need to have the window switch replaced. I have ordered one and will include it. The rear hatch door only opens from the inside. it was working fine until a few days ago? Could be something minor. The rubber trim for the door on the drivers side needs to be replaced. All the 4 doors open and close well with a reassuring solid sound. The engine and transmission that is currently in the car was replaced by the 2nd owners. From what we known the engine failed due to negligence and not due to mechanical failure. The current engine and transmission that's in the car came from a non-turbo sedan that had 138k on it. All necessary gaskets and seal were also replaced at the time. The engine runs fine, does not consume oil and the transmission shifts well. I also recently had all the 4 speakers in the car replaced with Infinity brand speakers and also replaced the radio in it with a cd player that plays DVD's, works with Ipod's, has a USB connector a audio out and also takes SD cards. The stereo system in the car sounds great. I would love to keep the car but simply have no room for it. I would like to see the car go to someone that will drive it and appreciate it. This is pretty much I know about the car. The car will be sold with a notarized bill of sale and a copy of the vehicle registeration registration. That is all you need to get this car titled and registered in your name. That was how the previous owners sold it to my father and that is how owner ship was transferred to him and that is how he registered it.
