I purchased the car locally 2 years ago with 80k miles on it. it was very clean and drove perfectly. Over the last couple of years I have done everything recommended by my local shop to keep it up. Oil has been changed every 3k miles and it does not smoke or use any oil. These cars need suspension and cooling system work around 100k miles and that has been done to the tune of around $6000. I also added the 18" M wheels and tires, tires were new a few months ago with about 80% tread remaining. 3 of the wheels have some abrasion on the edge of the rims. One hub BMW emblem missing. Occasionlly I get a shimmy in the steering wheel if the car sits for a while. Apparent at around 45 mph. There are small aluminum shim rings that can be added to the performance wheels to correct this but I have never gone to the trouble. The problem dissipates quickly when driving. The good things are that it is in excellent driving condition and very dependable. It averages 17 mpg in the city according to the computer. I drove 1000 miles a week back and forth to Atlanta 7 times when my wife was in the hospital at 100+ miles an hour and it is super smooth and quiet. We are selling because we needed a different vehicle after her accident. It is a popular color and with the gray interior and stays cool in the summer. It has the heated seats and heated sterring wheel options which work perfectly. The air is perfect. The seats have no rips or tears and the car is non smoking. The interior wood is perfect except for a hairline crack in the ashtray lid and a small hairline crack on the dash piece that won't photograph. The body is very straight with no rust or fading of the paint. No accidents since I have owned and none I am aware of. This is a 15 year old car and as such is not perfect. I will do my best to describe imperfections and the buyer is welcome to inspect locally or have inspected by a professional. You can also talk to my local shop if you are bidding on the car. There are several scatches in the paint but almost no door dings if any. there is a small spot about 2 inches long at the bottom corner of the rear valance (see photo) where I backed into a brick in the driveway. There is a spot about 4 inches long and 1/4 inch wide on the rear door like a solvent ran down the side and made a line. There is a speaker that rattles at a certain frequency, the cd will skip if you hit a big bump, sometimes changing tracks is tricky (about 5% of the time). There are typical diodes out on the onscreen computer display for avg mpg, temp, miles to empty, etc but does not interfere with function or reading the display (just not quite perfect). The door lock switch in the console sticks occasionally. The glass piece of the sunroof did not operate properly so I leave it closed. The solid panel does function. The check engine light has been on since I purchased the car. My shop said it is related to emmissions control and does not affect performance. This may however be an issue for a buyer if in California or other emmission restricted area. If this is a concern I can find out what it will cost to fix. I will say I have never owned an older model BMW that the check engine light does not stay on a lot. The engine is wet on one side because of a small leak at the valve cover. I have chosen not to fix this because it is very minor, does not drip, does not use oil, and does not smell, again just not perfect. This model is a lot of car for the money and I am sure the next owner will be pleased. I am sure I have been diligent in my description, probably more so than typical, but do not warranty the car.
