Vehicle Detail

This is a 1962 Chevrolet Impala 4 door sedan. The Impala is in excellent condition for a daily driver or local show car. It has won trophies at a couple of local shows. Although very nice, it is not a concourse quality car with some trim dings and other minor imperfections. Body and Interior: The car looks to have 1 repaint in it's original color of Laurel Green. The top has been painted a creme color which is not indicated on the cowl tag. The paint is in almost new condition with only a couple tiny chips and a small area near the hood latch where the prep work was not sufficient and some of the new paint lifted, exposing the original laurel green paint. There is no rust in the original floor or trunk pans with only the minimal common rust in the two corners of the upper level drop down in the trunk where it meets the trunk floor. Everything on the car is functional other than the clock doesn't work and the turn signals will not cancel on their own. I was unable to get the turn indicator part as it was on back order but it is available. All gauges and lights work including the green engine cold indicator light. Many new parts have been installed. The interior is a nice custom green vinyl and cloth that is similar to the original pattern with the buttons having a flame pattern. The headliner is also in excellent condition. The dash is original with the original radio still in place and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD with detachable face plate mounted below the dash. The system has two amps, five interior speakers and a base box in the trunk. the car is also alarmed. Drive train: The engine is a 260 H.P. 350 crate motor with Edelbrock intake and carburetor, Weind valve covers, K&N air cleaner and HEI ignition. The exhaust is the original ram's horn manifolds with new Cherry Bomb glass packs and pipes. It also has a Powermaster high output alternator. The engine has about 5,000 miles on it. The transmission is a T10 4 speed on the floor with a Hurst shifter. The car originally had a three on the tree. The rear end is stock. Suspension: The car has been upgraded to a 605 power steering box with the tie rod ends and idler arm replaced at that time. the brakes are standard 4 wheel manual drum with new wheel cylinders and stop great. the car is equipped with air bags on all four corners by Kustom Konnections using 3 compressors, 2 tanks and 1/2 inch lines with a 10 switch control box. The only cutting to the frame was a small hole on each side in the front to route the air lines. The car responds rapidly with this system and has front to back, side to side and cross lift capabilities. ( I only use front and back and the frame is straight) The wheels are 14" Dayton knock off wires with Cooper Lifeliner tires. This is a very clean and reliable Impala that can be driven anywhere on a daily basis and still present well at the local show on Friday night. I suggest that you come and see & drive the car if at all possible. The car is for sale locally and may be removed from auction at any time. Call or email with any questions. I can take additional pictures and email them to you if needed, although my camera has started acting up as you can see in some of the photos provided, so I may have to borrow one for other pics.
