Vehicle Detail
1977 PORSCHE 911S Coupe with Upgraded 3.0 SC Engine I have here a car I purchased originally with the intention of backdating it and turn it into a 73 RS look. My own work has taken much of my time and this car has only been collecting dust so it is time to pass on the flame and let someone enjoy such a delightful car. The engine is from a later 911 SC 3.0 displacement opposed to the original 2.7 and was done professionally. The AC compressor was transferred over to new engine. (AC not currently working). The engine starts with first crank and runs smooth. Not a hint of oil drop on the floor. The transmission is shifts properly and feels like all 915's I have driven. Clutch has no sign of slippage and grips nicely. Suspension and brakes are on par with the car and performs well. The interior is holding decent with no tears on the leather just some minor cracks mostly on driver seat. Passenger seat is very nice. Rear seats are like all 911 rear seats, mostly new. Dash has no cracks and interior panels are very respectable. The glove compartment doesn't seat very tight but it does lock and closes. All gauges worked last I checked. Power windows, power sunroof, lighting, radio works however the blower fan is not working. The AC unit is intact and installed under dash shown on pictures. The paint is metallic blue and definitely a 10 footer whoever some detailing and buffing might bring out the shine again. This car has some dings around the car as expected as previous owner used it as a daily driver. Car chassis just turned over 100k miles, engine swapped less than 20k miles ago. I have no records, just based on what PO mentioned and by the way the engine runs I have no reason to doubt that. This 911S with a lighter 1977 body and a bulletproof 3.0 engine makes this a great entry level into Porsche 911 with reliability in hand. With proper and timely maintenance the 3.0 SC engines have shown in cases to have reached over 500,000 miles without rebuild. I am certain this is why the 2.7 engine was swapped out as they were immensely more problematic. Car is located in Long Island New York.
