Up for bid is a 1977 Datsun 280z 5 speed 2 seat coupe. The odometer reads 26,xxx miles as it only goes to "99,999".I believe the car has the stock L28 non turbo, fuel injected, inline 6 cylinder. As for the engine, it does not smoke or leak any fluids. Starts right up and is currently my daily driver. Runs smooth. Recently replaced spark plugs and wires, cap and rotor, and post AFM duct. Idles at 700RPM. The car does not have a muffler (the pipe comes out just before the rear end). It is not excessively loud at all.The 5 speed transmission works as it should in all of the gears including reverse. The car drives and brakes straight and does not pull in either direction. It will need the rear brake line looked at, as it has a slow leak that starves the brake master cylinder. Luckily, you can bleed the brakes yourself from under the hood, so I just keep it full and have not addressed the issue. The leak only affects the front located cylinder (which is for the rear brakes). Cosmetically, the 280z does not have any major obvious body damage. The paint job is a little old and is starting to crack in areas. There are signs of rust formation (see in pictures), but not rotted through. Also note that whoever had painted the car over-sprayed slightly in areas such as on the windows and inside door panels. The interior is stock, I believe the carpet has been replaced. The dash needs to be replaced, but it does have a carpet dash cover. The windshield is cracked, but not directly in front of the driver.It does have nearly new tires all around, all fluids up to date.This car would be an excellent candidate for restoration or simply as a classic daily driver.
